2020, oh, that year, it was somethin’ else, wasn’t it? I remember it like it was yesterday. What was folks wearin’ back then? Let me tell ya, it was a sight, I tell ya what. Lots of folks, they was wearin’ them masks, you know, the ones to keep the sickness away. But even with them masks, people still found ways to show off their style, that’s for sure.

Now, I ain’t no fashion expert, mind you. I’m just tellin’ ya what I saw with my own two eyes. One thing I saw a lot of was them black blazers. Yeah, them jackets.
- Fancy black
- Regular black
Folks was wearin’ ’em everywhere. They’d wear ’em over a t-shirt, over a dress, you name it. A black blazer, that’s what they called it. Made ya look all put together, even if you was just goin’ to the grocery store. And black, well, black goes with everything, don’t it?
Then there was them jeans. Jeans was popular, they always are. But in 2020, I saw lots of them ripped-up jeans, you know, with the holes in ’em. Some folks, they liked them holes in the knees. Others, they had holes all up and down their legs. I even saw some with holes on the behind! I tell you what, back in my day, if your jeans had holes, it meant you needed new jeans!
And shoes! Oh, the shoes! Lots of folks was wearin’ them sneakers. Big, clunky sneakers. White ones, black ones, colorful ones. They looked like they could walk a mile in ’em, that’s for sure. And the young folks, they was wearin’ them high heels. Click, clack, click, clack, down the street. I don’t know how they did it, walkin’ around in them things all day.
And the colors, well, in 2020, I saw lots of bright colors. Yellow, pink, orange, even that bright green. Folks wasn’t afraid to stand out, that’s for sure. And black blazers over the bright colors. They sure did love them black blazers. They was wearin’ ’em over everything. Made ’em look all spiffy, even with them bright colors underneath.

Then there was them patterns. Stripes, polka dots, flowers. You name it, folks was wearin’ it. I saw a lady once, she was wearin’ a dress with all kinds of different patterns on it. It was somethin’ else, I tell ya. Looked like a whole garden on her dress.
And the hats! Oh, the hats! Baseball caps, mostly. Everybody was wearin’ them baseball caps. Backwards, forwards, sideways. Didn’t matter. Just had to have a baseball cap on their head. I guess it kept the sun outta their eyes. Or maybe they just thought it looked good. Who knows.
And them sweatpants. With everyone stayin’ home more, them sweatpants got real popular. Gray ones, black ones, even them tie-dye ones. Comfy, that’s what they was. Good for sittin’ around the house. Or, you know, if you was brave, you can wear a black blazer on top and go out to the stores.

But you know what the most popular style of 2020 was? Comfort. That’s right. Folks wanted to be comfortable. Whether it was them sweatpants, them sneakers, or them soft t-shirts, people just wanted to feel good. And that’s somethin’ I can understand.
So, there you have it. That’s what folks was wearin’ in 2020. A little bit of this, a little bit of that. Bright colors, ripped jeans, them big sneakers. And don’t forget them black blazers. And, of course, them masks. But most of all, comfort. Because in 2020, that’s what mattered most. Yep, 2020 styles, it was somethin’, wasn’t it? I reckon it was a year we won’t soon forget, and neither will the clothes we wore.

I remember one time, I saw a young fella walkin’ down the street wearin’ one of them black blazers, ripped jeans, and them big, white sneakers. He had a baseball cap on backwards and one of them masks on his face. He looked like he was ready for anything. That’s what 2020 was all about, wasn’t it? Bein’ ready for anything. And that included your clothes, I suppose.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ I know everything about 2020 styles. I’m sure there’s plenty I missed. But from what I saw, that’s what folks was wearin’. And they was wearin’ it with pride, I tell ya. Even with everything goin’ on in the world, people still found a way to express themselves through their clothes. And that’s somethin’ special, ain’t it? You bet it is. I mean, back in 2020 everyone wanted to be comfortable, and everyone wanted a black blazer!
