Okay, so, I wanted to see how long it would take to grow out a fringe. I had these bangs, right? And I was kinda over them. So I started this little experiment.

First, I decided to pick a part. This was just to make the growing-out process look a little neater, I guess. I went with a side part because I thought it would blend better as my bangs got longer.
Then, the waiting game began. Ugh, it felt like forever. I documented everything. I took photos almost daily, measured the length, and wrote about how I felt about it. I am not gonna lie, it was super annoying at times. Especially in that awkward in-between stage where they are too long to be bangs, but too short to really blend in with the rest of your hair.
- Week 1: Barely any growth. Felt like I’d made a huge mistake.
- Week 4: Starting to get a bit longer. Used a lot of bobby pins to keep them out of my face.
- Week 8: Okay, now they are just in my eyes all the time. Headbands became my best friends.
- Week 12: They are almost long enough to tuck behind my ears! Still look a bit weird, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Three months in
I was still pinning them back or using headbands to keep them out of my face. It was a pain, but it was slowly getting better.
After about three to four months, my bangs were finally long enough to blend in with the rest of my hair. I could tuck them behind my ears, style them with the rest of my hair, and no longer look like I was in that weird growing-out phase.
So, yeah, it took about three to four months to fully grow out my fringe. It was a bit of a pain, but definitely doable. You just need some patience, a lot of bobby pins, and maybe a few cute headbands.
