Okay, guys, I’ve been messing around with watches lately, and I gotta share my whole journey with y’all. It all started ’cause I needed something to, you know, tell the time. But I quickly got into this whole watch world, and man, it’s been a ride!

First off, I started looking around, reading some stuff online. People wear watches for all sorts of reasons, like, yeah, to know the time, but also ’cause they look cool and can really show off your style. I learned that soldiers in World War I started wearing wristwatches, and then it became a fashion thing after the war. So, there’s some history there.
So, I’m thinking, what kind of watch do I want? I saw that fabric strap watches are in right now, especially for guys. They look kinda old-school, like those WW1 watches, and they’re practical, too. Plus, they give off a chill vibe. Then I stumbled upon this brand, Swatch, and they’re all about techy watches. Since I’m a product of the internet, I felt like this was a good place to start.
I read some study, don’t remember who did it, but it was about watches. And there are these watch experts, Wallner and Trinh, who I guess know a lot about what’s gonna be popular. Oh, and I found out there are these young watch influencers on social media. It’s wild!
My First Steps
- First things first, I needed a watch that would make me happy to wear it.
- I figured I’d start with something simple. I didn’t wanna jump into the deep end with some super fancy watch.
- I hit up a few stores, tried on a bunch of different watches. Some felt too bulky, others too delicate. I wanted something just right, like the Goldilocks of watches.
Getting Deeper into Watches

- After getting my first watch, I started noticing what other people were wearing.
- I’d ask friends about their watches, and some of them were super into it, telling me about movements and all that complicated stuff.
- I even went to a couple of watch meetups. It was cool to see all these different watches and meet people who are passionate about them.
Realizations
- I realized that watches are more than just time-telling devices. They’re like little pieces of art you wear on your wrist.
- There’s a whole community around watches, and it’s pretty welcoming. People love to share their collections and talk about their favorite pieces.
- It’s not just about how a watch looks; it’s also about how it makes you feel. I found myself feeling more put-together and confident when wearing a watch I liked.
So, yeah, that’s my watch journey so far. I’m still learning, and I’ve got my eye on a few pieces I might pick up in the future. It’s been a fun ride, and I’m excited to see where it takes me next. If any of you are into watches, hit me up! I’d love to hear about your collections and what you’re into.
