So, I stumbled upon this movie, “The Garden of Words”. I was just browsing through what to watch, and the title caught my eye. I mean, who wouldn’t be intrigued, right?

I started by looking up where I could watch it. Seems like it’s available on a bunch of platforms, like Netflix and even for purchase on other sites. I found it on Netflix, which was convenient since I already have a subscription there.
Preparation
- Launched Netflix on my TV.
- Searched for “The Garden of Words” using the search bar.
- Found the movie.
It’s a Japanese anime, but it had both the original audio and an English dub. I opted for the original Japanese with subtitles ’cause that’s how I usually roll with anime.
The story is about this high school kid, Takao, who dreams of being a shoemaker. He skips class on rainy mornings and heads to this beautiful garden. That’s where the adventure begins. I don’t wanna spoil too much, but it’s a really touching story, and the animation is just gorgeous. It’s a Makoto Shinkai film, so you know the visuals are gonna be top-notch.
I watched the whole thing in one sitting. It’s not very long, only about 46 minutes, but it packed a real emotional punch. I even got a little teary-eyed towards the end, not gonna lie. It was like a warm hug and a punch to the gut at the same time, you know? Just beautiful, bittersweet, and makes you think.
After it ended, I just sat there for a bit, letting it all sink in. Then I went online and read some reviews and discussions about it. Seems like a lot of people felt the same way I did. It’s definitely one of those movies that stays with you.

I ended up recommending it to a few friends. If you’re into anime or just want to watch a beautiful, heartfelt story, you should definitely check out “The Garden of Words”. You won’t regret it.
