Okay, so, I’ve been into vintage stuff lately, especially bags. I found this really cool Dooney & Bourke vintage shoulder bag, and I just have to share my whole experience with you guys!

I started looking for the bag online, just browsing through different websites, but I wanted to get a feel for it in person, you know? So I went to a few vintage stores in my area. It was fun, like a little treasure hunt. I finally spotted this beautiful Dooney & Bourke bag at a cute little shop downtown. It was a classic style, which I really liked.
I picked it up and checked it out closely. I had read somewhere that vintage Dooney & Bourke bags have tight, straight stitches with this particular yellow thread. This one totally did! It felt good to hold it, the leather felt really nice and thick. They said it’s pebbled leather, which means it has this cool, bumpy texture. Also, I learned that there should be a tag inside with a number on the back, and it tells you where and when the bag was made in the US. This one had it!
- First, I looked at the stitching.
- Then, I felt the leather.
- After that, I checked for the tag inside.
The bag had brass hardware, which looked super classy. I noticed there was a zipper on top to close the bag and some pockets inside and outside, pretty handy.
The shop owner told me it was in excellent condition, and honestly, it looked almost new, even though it was vintage. I also saw that it had a long strap, so I could wear it over my shoulder or across my body, which is perfect for me since I like to have my hands free.
Making the Decision
After inspecting the bag thoroughly, I was kind of in love with it. It wasn’t cheap, but it felt like a good investment because it was so well-made and it will probably last forever. So, I decided to buy it. I paid the lady at the counter, and she carefully wrapped it up for me.

I’ve been using the bag for a couple of weeks now, and I’m so happy with it. It goes with almost everything I wear, and I get compliments all the time. I even took it to a friend’s party last weekend, and everyone was asking me about it. It’s not just a bag, it’s like a little piece of history that I get to carry around.
So, that’s my story about getting my Dooney & Bourke vintage shoulder bag. If you’re thinking about getting a vintage bag, I say go for it! It’s a fun process, and you end up with something really special and unique.
