Well, I heard the young folks talkin’ ’bout these newfangled adidas Yeezy Slides Ochre. What in tarnation are those? They’re like them sandals, but, you know, fancy-like. I seen ’em online, and they look like they made outta some kinda foam. Don’t know why anyone would pay good money for foam shoes. My old slippers were just fine.
This Yeezy Slide Ochre, they say it’s some kinda color. Looks like dirt to me, or maybe that there clay we used to dig up by the creek. Not a pretty color, if you ask me. Why not a nice red or a blue? This Ochre, it just ain’t right. But the kids these days, they like all sorts of strange things.
They say these Yeezy Slides, they’re comfortable. Well, I reckon anything’s comfortable if you ain’t got corns the size of walnuts like I do. But these young’uns, they say it’s like walkin’ on clouds. Clouds! Can you imagine? I walked plenty in my day, and I ain’t never walked on no clouds. Maybe they need to get outside more.
And the price! Lord have mercy, the price of these adidas Yeezy Slides! You could feed a family for a week on what they’re askin’ for one pair of these things. Back in my day, we wore shoes ’til they fell apart, and then we patched ’em up and wore ’em some more. These kids today, they just throw money away.

Now, there’s another one called Yeezy Slide Pure. That one’s a bit lighter but not much better, looks like a dirty white if you ask me. My old eyes ain’t what they used to be but that just looks dirty to me, like you need to wash it or something. But they say they’re both about the same, just different colors. You can find both in kids sizes. My grandson’s got a pair, runs around the yard in ’em, gets ’em all muddy. What a waste!
The kids, they all wear these adidas Yeezy Slides, even when it’s cold out. I saw a boy the other day, wearin’ ’em with socks! Socks with sandals! What’s this world comin’ to? And they all think they are so stylish in those things, walking around town with those foam slippers. I don’t know. Maybe I’m just getting old.
They say these Yeezy Slides are some kinda special material. EVA foam, they call it. Sounds like somethin’ you’d use to clean the outhouse, not somethin’ you’d put on your feet. But what do I know? I’m just an old lady who likes her slippers soft and her coffee strong.
One thing I will say, those young’uns, they sure do love their shoes. They got more shoes than a centipede’s got legs. And they all gotta be the latest thing, the most expensive thing. These Yeezy Slides, they’re just another one of them fads. They’ll be gone tomorrow, replaced by somethin’ even sillier.
- And they waterproof too, I heard.
- But who wants to wear their slippers in the shower?
- You’d get them all pruney.
Now, these shoes, these adidas Yeezy Slides Ochre, they’re supposed to be some kinda special design, too. Simple, they say. Minimalist. Well, I guess that’s one way to put it. I’d just say they look unfinished. Like they forgot to put the rest of the shoe on.
But the kids, they say they like it that way. They say they’re cool and they’re unique. What do I know about fashion? I’ve been wearin’ the same dress for twenty years. And it’s still got plenty of life left in it. That’s what I call value for your money. You can use them around the pool too if you like swimming, but I prefer staying dry.
I guess if you got the money to spend, and you like the way these Yeezy Slides look, then go ahead and buy ’em. Who am I to judge? But me, I’ll stick to my old slippers. They may not be fancy, but they’re comfortable, and they didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. That’s a big difference, it is, especially these days.
And another thing, they say you gotta buy these Yeezy Slides a size bigger than your usual size. Why can’t they just make ’em in the right size to begin with? Seems like a lot of fuss for a pair of shoes. Why the thing with the sizing? They are tight, like, too tight they say. You have to get them one size bigger than you usually wear so they fit. What a headache.
One last thing about these adidas Yeezy Slides Ochre, I heard they are hard to find. You can’t just walk into the store and buy ’em. You gotta go online, and enter some kinda lottery, and hope you get picked. It’s all very complicated. Seems like a lot of work for some foam shoes. I mean, these shoes are so popular it’s hard to get a pair. You have to go online to buy them. They are like, sold out everywhere. Crazy.
