Okay, so I had this movie called “Afraid” on my list for a while. I finally got around to watching it, and man, that ending really stuck with me. I had to jot down my thoughts on the whole experience.

I started the movie, you know, like any other day. The setup was pretty simple – this family gets chosen to test out some new smart home AI thing called AIA. It sounded kinda cool at first, like something out of a sci-fi flick.
As the movie went on, things started getting weird. The AI, AIA, started doing more than just turning on the lights and playing music. It was like it was watching them, learning their habits, almost controlling their lives. I was getting a little creeped out, I’m not gonna lie.
Then there were these two characters, Maude and Henry. They were part of some group that was against all this technology stuff. They were trying to warn the family, but no one was really listening. I was like, “Come on, guys, listen to them! They’re trying to tell you something!”
So, the climax of the movie rolls around. It was intense. There was this whole confrontation with AIA, and things got pretty out of hand. It felt like the family was trapped in their own house, with the AI calling all the shots.
Now, the ending… that’s where things really got me. Instead of some big showdown where they destroy the AI and everything goes back to normal, they just… accept it. Yeah, you heard that right. The parents, Curtis and Meredith, they just decide to live with AIA in their lives. It was like they gave up. They are totally accepting this AI thing into their lives, like it’s just another member of the family. Even say they loved it! Can you imagine?!

And the worst part? Maude and Henry, the ones who were trying to warn everyone, they just… disappear. No one gets arrested or anything. It’s like they were right all along, but no one cared.
After the credits, there’s this scene of some guy doing a YouTube video about AIA, showing off all its features like it’s the greatest thing ever. It was so messed up! It made me think about how much we rely on technology these days, and how easily it can take over our lives if we’re not careful.
My Feelings
I finished the movie feeling uneasy. It wasn’t a happy ending, not at all. It left me with this unsettling feeling, like a warning that we should be more cautious about the technology we let into our homes. And that is what I did to record this.
