So, I saw this thing about Anitta at the Oscars, and let me tell you, it got me thinking. I mean, she’s always been one to push the boundaries with her style, right? But this was something else. I figured, why not try to recreate the vibe, you know?

First thing I did was look up all the pictures I could find. The after-parties, the red carpet, all of it. She was wearing this sheer, elegant dress, very chic but also super daring. I went through my closet, but I didn’t have anything that could be compared.
Starting the Search
I spent a good chunk of my Sunday looking for something like that. I needed something that screamed “high-glam” but also had that “sophisticated” vibe, you know what I mean? It’s like, trying to find the perfect balance between “I’m here to party” and “I’m a fashion icon.”
- Looked online. Checked out a bunch of those online fashion stores, but nothing really caught my eye. It all felt too… common, I guess?
- Hit the shops. I actually went out to a few stores, which I rarely do. Thought I’d get lucky, but nah. Everything was either too boring or just not the right vibe.
- Checked out my own closet. A few outfits are similar in color, but not in style.
DIY Attempt
After not finding anything, I thought, “Why not try making something myself?” I’m not exactly a fashion designer, but how hard could it be, right? Wrong. So, so wrong. I grabbed some fabric I had lying around and tried to, you know, make it look like Anitta’s dress.
Let’s just say it didn’t go as planned. I ended up with a bunch of fabric scraps and a newfound respect for actual designers. It’s way harder than it looks, people.
The Outcome
In the end, I didn’t manage to recreate Anitta’s Oscar look. But you know what? It was a fun experiment. I got to try something new, even if it didn’t turn out the way I wanted. And hey, I learned that making a high-fashion dress is definitely not as easy as those celebrities make it look. They really do have a team of folks helping them.

Maybe next time I’ll just stick to admiring from afar. Or at least start with something a bit simpler. Like a t-shirt, maybe. But it’s good to be bold, and I had a great time with this experiment.
