Okay, so you know how A$AP Rocky is always setting trends, right? The dude’s fashion sense is off the charts. Lately, it’s his nails that have been catching my eye. I saw a photo of his nail art on Instagram the other day and thought, “I gotta try that.”

I’m not exactly a nail art expert, but I figured, how hard could it be? I did some digging on Pinterest, found some cool ideas that were inspired by Rocky’s style, you know, those with smiley faces, eyeballs, and even little grenades. Wild, right?
Gathering Supplies
First, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I already had a bunch of nail polish at home, but I picked up a few extra colors like bright yellow and sky blue. Oh, and I grabbed some fine-tipped brushes from a craft store. Those were essential for the details.
Prepping My Nails
Next up, I prepped my nails. I filed them down a bit, pushed back my cuticles, you know, the basic manicure stuff. I wanted a clean canvas to work with. I even watched a couple of YouTube videos on how to properly prep your nails for painting. It’s important, folks!
Painting the Base
Now for the fun part! I started by painting a base coat on each nail. For some nails, I went with black, and for others, I used white. I wanted some variety, just like Rocky does. It’s all about mixing it up, you see?
Creating the Designs
This is where things got tricky. I tried to recreate some of the designs I saw on Pinterest. I drew little smiley faces on a couple of nails, which actually turned out pretty decent. I even attempted those tiny eyeballs. Let me tell you, drawing an eyeball on a nail is way harder than it looks! The grenades, though… that was a whole other level of difficult. I kinda messed up on those, but hey, it’s all part of the learning process, right?

Adding the Top Coat
After what felt like hours, I finally finished the designs. I sealed everything in with a clear top coat to make sure my hard work wouldn’t chip off in a day. Gotta protect the masterpiece, after all!
The Final Result
So, how did it turn out? Well, it wasn’t exactly A$AP Rocky level, but I was pretty happy with it! It was definitely a fun experiment. It’s not perfect, but it’s got that cool, edgy vibe. The Union Jack that I saw him with was way too complicated so I just stuck with simple colors and faces.
Here’s what I learned: nail art is harder than it looks, especially when you’re trying to copy a trendsetter like A$AP Rocky. But it’s also a lot of fun! I’ll definitely be trying this again. Maybe next time I’ll get those grenades right. Or maybe I’ll just stick to smiley faces. We’ll see!
