Okay, so I recently tried to become a stylist at Stitch Fix, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience. I’ve always been into fashion and thought, why not give it a shot? Here’s how it went down.
What’s Stitch Fix Anyway?
First off, for those who don’t know, Stitch Fix is basically a personal styling service. They send you clothes they pick out just for you, and you only keep what you like. Pretty cool, right?
Starting the Application
So, the first thing I did was head over to their website to find the application. It wasn’t hard to find, and I started filling it out. It took me around 20 minutes, give or take. I had to put in all the usual stuff like my contact info, work history, and why I wanted to be a stylist. I made sure to mention my love for fashion and my knack for picking out outfits for friends.
The Waiting Game
After hitting submit, it was a waiting game. I checked my email like a hawk every day. It felt like forever, but it was probably just a couple of weeks. Patience isn’t exactly my strong suit, but I tried to stay chill.
The Next Steps
- First Round Interview: I finally got an email inviting me to a phone interview. I was so excited! I prepped by reviewing common interview questions and thinking about how I could show off my styling skills. The interview was pretty standard, lots of questions about my experience and why I wanted the job. I think I did okay, but I was still nervous.
- Styling Test: Next up was a styling test. They sent me a link to an online platform where I had to create outfits for hypothetical clients. This was actually pretty fun. I got to play around with different styles and pieces, just like I do in real life. I spent a good chunk of time making sure each outfit was perfect.
- Second Round Interview: If you pass the styling test, they invite you to a second interview, this time it was a video call. This one was a bit more intense. They asked me about specific styling scenarios and how I’d handle them. I tried to stay calm and use examples from my own experiences.
The Result
After all that, I waited some more. And guess what? I got an offer! I was over the moon. It felt amazing to make it through all those steps. I gladly accepted and started the onboarding process. They have a whole training program to get you up to speed, which was super helpful.
Getting Started as a Stylist
Once I finished training, I started working as a stylist. It’s been a blast so far. I get to help people find clothes they love and feel confident in.
