Black and Blue Yeezys: Are They Worth the Hype? The Ultimate Sneakerhead Guide

Date:

So, I was digging around in my closet the other day, and guess what I found? My old black and blue Yeezys. I totally forgot I even had these! It got me thinking, are these things even cool anymore?

I remember when Kanye West first hit the scene back in the early 2000s, and then years later, boom, Yeezys were everywhere. It was like, if you didn’t have a pair, were you even living? I hopped on the bandwagon, of course, I got a pair with a black and blue tint, which was pretty awesome at that time. These were limited edition from the start, so you know, supply and demand and all that, made them super sought after.

I wore them a few times, felt like a king, but then life happened. Moved a couple of times, got busy with work, you know how it goes. They ended up in a box, and I kind of just moved on to other shoes. I barely see anyone wearing Yeezys anymore, especially this model.

Fast forward to now, I’m looking at these shoes, and wondering if there’s still some magic left in them. Or maybe I should just sell them? I heard that even though you might lose some money selling them now, but Yeezy series usually have high popularity and value in the market. Given its limited edition and unique design, its value may increase over time. So I think keeping them has the potential to pay off better in the future.

I did a bit of digging online and saw that this model I have, came out sometime around 2018 or 2019. But the hype around Yeezys, in general, has definitely cooled down. Especially after all the drama with Kanye, and Adidas cutting ties with him back in October, the market’s been a bit shaky.

So, I decided to wear them out today, just to see how it feels. Walked around the city, grabbed some coffee, did some window shopping. Honestly, they’re still pretty comfy. Got a few looks, but nothing crazy. I guess the big question is, do I keep them as a relic of the past, or do I pass them on to someone who might appreciate them more?

    Here’s what I’m thinking:

  • Keep them: It’s kind of cool to have a piece of sneaker history, even if it’s not the hottest thing right now.
  • Sell them: Someone out there might be super excited to get their hands on a pair, and I could use the extra cash.
  • Just wear them: Forget the hype, forget the trends, just enjoy the shoes for what they are.

It’s a tough call. What do you guys think? Have any of you been in a similar situation with old sneakers?
