Okay, so I went to Bloomingdale’s in Chevy Chase the other day. I’d been meaning to check it out for a while, you know, just to see what the buzz was about. This place is supposed to be, like, the ultimate in upscale department stores, right? “Like No Other Store in the World” – that’s what they say.

So, I finally made my way over there. It’s pretty easy to find, located in The Shops at Wisconsin Place. Parking was a bit of a hassle, but hey, it’s a busy area. I walked in, and immediately, I was struck by how massive this place is. It’s got everything – clothes, accessories, beauty products, even stuff for your home.
I started by browsing the women’s apparel section. They had a really nice selection, a mix of well-known brands and some that were new to me. I tried on a few dresses, but nothing really grabbed me. I’m more of a casual dresser, and a lot of the stuff was a bit too fancy for my everyday style.
Next, I headed over to the beauty department. Oh my gosh, it was like a candy store for makeup lovers! They had all the big names – Lancôme, Estée Lauder, you name it. I was feeling a little festive and they had a good deal – a Lancôme Beauty Box for $79 with any Lancôme purchase. I ended up getting a new foundation and a few other goodies.
I also wandered through the shoe section, which was amazing. So many choices! I saw some really cute sandals, but they didn’t have my size. Bummer.
After a couple of hours, I was pretty much shopped out. I grabbed a coffee at their little cafe and sat down to rest my feet. While I was there, I overheard some people talking about upcoming sales, which sounded interesting. I made a mental note to check their website later. Apparently, they have a Friends and Family Sale coming up, with 25% off a bunch of stuff. They are also having a spring bank holiday sale in May! I also heard something about a Chevy Chase Street Fair in June and July – that might be fun to check out.

Overall, I had a good time at Bloomingdale’s. It’s definitely a high-end store, but they do have sales and promotions sometimes. I didn’t buy a ton of stuff, but I enjoyed browsing and checking everything out.
Here are some of my key takeaways from my trip:
- Bloomingdale’s is open seven days a week, which is convenient.
- They have a great selection of products, especially in the beauty department.
- It’s worth keeping an eye out for their sales events.
- They have a smaller store concept called “Bloomie’s” that might be more my style. I’ll have to check that out sometime.
So yeah, that was my Bloomingdale’s adventure. If you’re in the Chevy Chase area and you’re looking for a fancy shopping experience, it’s worth a visit. Just be prepared to spend some serious cash! But, if you are like me, it is fun to window shop too! I definitely will be keeping an eye out for those sales!
