Today, I would like to share my experience on “broad military”.

First, I searched for some information about the military strength on the Internet. The information shows that the assessment of military power should be considered from three aspects, that is capability, capacity, and readiness. I think this is so-called “hard power”.
Then, I tried to find some data that can reflect “hard power”, such as expenditure and numbers of tanks and military bases. And I also considered some other elements that can influence the comprehensive military power, such as alliances, and readiness. These elements are hard to quantify. To be honest, I can’t say how much these elements can contribute to the total military strength. But they do have some influence.
After that, I tried to combine these two parts, that is the three aspects of “hard power” and the other elements that I can find. I can get a relatively comprehensive view of military power. But this is still not enough, because I haven’t considered the actual combat performance. So I checked the historical record of major U.S. engagements for evidence of what really matters in a real war.
Finally, I think I get a relatively comprehensive and objective view of military power, although it is still not that perfect. I think the most important factor that influences the military power is still the “hard power” which can be measured, while other elements can also influence the military power to some extent.
- The military power should be assessed from multiple aspects.
- “Hard power” is the key and can be measured.
- Other elements such as alliances and readiness can also influence the military power, but they are hard to quantify.
- Historical combat performance is important to consider.
My Key Takeaways
That’s all for my sharing today. Hope you find it useful!
