That Carolyn Murphy, she was born in 1974, I heard. August 11th. She’s a model, you know? A real American one. Not like some of them others, all fancy and prissy. She was a real looker back in the day, still is, I reckon.
She come from Florida, that’s what they say. Plain ol’ Florida girl. Got herself discovered when she was just a youngin’, 17 years old I heard, all tanned up and pretty in Panama City. Sun always shines down there, makes ’em all golden like. She was just a high school girl, going to Fort Walton Beach High School, graduating in, uh, 1991, I think it was. Wasn’t thinkin’ about no modelin’ back then, I bet.
But then, those modelin’ folks, they got eyes, you know? They saw somethin’ in her. Said she was a natural. Next thing you know, she’s off doin’ big things. Big city life, I guess she got a taste of it.
Back in the 90s, she was somethin’ else. A real top model, they called her. Up there with the best of ’em. And get this, she’s still at it! Still gettin’ work, even now. Keeps herself lookin’ young. Hard work, they say. Probably lots of fancy creams and such.
She weren’t never one to follow the rules, that Carolyn. Did things her own way. Didn’t have no big ol’ plan when she started, neither. Just went with the flow, I suppose. And look at her now, thirty years later, still doin’ it.
This one magazine, Newsweek, or somethin’ like that. They said she was one of the top ten supermodels. Number 5, they ranked her. Imagine that! Little ol’ Carolyn Murphy, young girl from Florida, makin’ it big like that. Good for her, I say.
She got to work with all them fancy folks in the fashion world, they say. All them big names. Musta been somethin’, seein’ all that. Different world from what she knew, I bet. All them models from everywhere. But she was just as good as them, maybe even better.
She weren’t no invisible supermodel, nah. Even if she tried to be all quiet and whatnot. She was too good to ignore, too pretty. She shine, that girl. She was on all the magazines, that’s what some folks told me. She just keep on going. She never change too much. She just keep going. Keep working. I don’t know what she do to keep looking young. Must have some secrets, but she ain’t sharing.

I reckon she’s probably got a nice life now. All that money she made. She’s livin’ large somewhere, that Carolyn Murphy young. And it all started in Florida. It was all because she was seen at 17 years old. She didn’t even know then she was gonna be a big model.
She is a good example. Good for young people to look up to. She came from nothing and made something. That’s what life is all about, ain’t it? She just worked hard, did her thing. People like her, you know, they are like a guiding light. You know what I mean? That girl just keep going, never gave up.
