Man, getting my hands on the blue Jordan 5s was a whole journey, let me tell you. I’ve been eyeing these kicks for a while now, I mean, the Air Jordan 5 is just a classic, you know? So, first things first, I had to figure out where I was even going to try and cop these.

Finding a pair
- Started by checking out all the usual spots online, but no luck.
- Hit up some local sneaker shops, striking out left and right.
- Then I thought, maybe I’d try the resale market, even though I hate paying those prices.
I checked out some resale platforms. Man, the prices were all over the place! Some were asking for like $800, which is just insane. I saw some forums where people were saying that the price might drop after the release, so I figured I’d wait it out a bit.
I kept digging, looking at past trends for Jordan 5 resales. I saw one model, the “Top 3” or something, was reselling for around $250, and it retailed for $200. Not too bad, but still a markup. I heard these blue ones had a retail price of $220, so I was hoping they wouldn’t go too much higher.
Waiting game
- Waited for the official release date, which was some time in November, I think.
- Tried my luck on release day, but of course, I took an L. Sold out instantly.
- Checked the resale market again, and prices were still pretty high, but they had come down a little.
I finally found a pair for around $265, which wasn’t great, but I was tired of looking. Pulled the trigger and bought them. When they arrived, I was so stoked. They look even better in person.
Rocking them
- Wore them out the first chance I got, felt like a million bucks.
- Got a ton of compliments, people definitely noticed them.
- Been rocking them regularly ever since, they’re super comfortable too.
All in all, it was a bit of a hassle, and I paid a little more than I wanted to, but I’m happy I got them. These blue Jordan 5s are definitely a prized possession in my sneaker collection.
I gotta say, though, the whole resale game is getting out of hand. It’s tough for regular folks who just want to wear the shoes to get their hands on them without paying crazy prices. But hey, that’s the game, I guess.

Anyway, that’s my story of copping the blue Jordan 5s. Hope you enjoyed my little adventure!
