Okay, so I’ve been dealing with some serious pain lately, especially in my foot. It’s been bugging me for weeks, and nothing seemed to be working. I tried everything – rest, ice, those weird toe stretches, even some over-the-counter pain meds. Nope, still hurt like crazy. Finally, I stumbled upon something called a “cortisone patch” and figured, why not give it a shot?

I did some digging around, you know, just casually browsing, and found out that cortisone is supposed to help with inflammation and stuff. Apparently, it can be used for tendonitis and plantar fasciitis, which, after describing my pain to a few online articles, seemed like it might be what I had. My foot was really inflamed. It was so easy!
So, I went to get one of these cortisone patches from an online shop. The idea is that you stick the patch on the spot that hurts, and it delivers the medicine right there. It made sense to me – like, instead of taking a pill that goes all over your body, this thing targets the specific area.
- Got the patch: This was the easiest part. Ordered it online, and it showed up in my mailbox a few days later. It was pretty cheap, too!
- Read the instructions: Okay, I kind of skimmed them. But it seemed simple enough. Clean the area, stick the patch on, and leave it for a while. I did all that.
- Stuck it on: I cleaned up my foot, dried it off, and slapped that patch right on the most painful spot on my heel.
- Waited: This was the hard part. I’m not a patient person. But I left it on for a whole day. I even slept with it on. It was a little uncomfortable, but not too bad.
How did I do that?
I noticed that these patches can stay on for a few days to help with the pain, which is pretty cool. I just had mine on for a day, I just changed it once. I started to feel a little better after a few hours. It wasn’t a miracle cure or anything, but the pain definitely went down a notch. The instructions mentioned that it would reduce pain signals by interacting with nerve endings, so maybe that was it.
I also read something about some FDA recall on pain patches, but I’m not sure if it was related to these cortisone ones. It mentioned lidocaine and camphor, but I didn’t see those on the ingredients list for mine, but I still feel a little scared. Anyway, I figured one patch wouldn’t hurt.
After using it, I felt like it was worth a try, especially if you’re dealing with that kind of nagging pain. It’s definitely going in my medicine cabinet for next time! And I will remember to change it regularly next time, haha!

Just wanted to share my experience, in case anyone else is looking for a little relief. And I heard someone says, “these patches are good for muscle aches and joint pain.” I haven’t tried it on other parts, but if my back starts acting up again, maybe I’ll give it a go there, too.
