Okay, so, I wanted to do something fun and cheerful with my nails, and I thought, why not try some cute yellow nail designs? I started by looking up some inspiration online. There are so many different styles, from simple and sweet to super detailed and artistic.

First things first, I had to prep my nails. I made sure they were clean and filed them into a nice shape. I like mine a little rounded, not too pointy. Then, I applied a base coat to protect my natural nails and help the color last longer. I already had the right tools like nail dotting tools, so I didn’t buy anything else.
I decided to go with a few different designs to try out. For my thumbs, I painted them a solid, bright yellow. It’s such a happy color! Then, on my index fingers, I wanted to try something a little fancier. I used a nail dotting tool and white polish to add some tiny polka dots. It was surprisingly easy, even for a beginner like me.
- Thumb: Solid bright yellow.
- Index finger: Yellow base with white polka dots.
- Middle finger: Yellow with some cute kawaii faces.
- Ring finger: A light yellow.
- Pinky: Solid bright yellow, just like my thumbs.
For my middle fingers, I got a bit more adventurous. I found some inspiration for cute little kawaii faces online. They looked so adorable, I just had to try them! I carefully drew the faces on a yellow base. They turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself!
On my ring fingers, I wanted something a little more subtle. I chose a lighter, pastel yellow and painted them solid. It’s a nice contrast to the brighter yellow on my other nails. Finally, on my pinkies, I painted them the same bright yellow as my thumbs, to tie everything together.
After the designs were all dry, I applied a top coat to seal everything in and give it a nice, glossy finish. And that’s it! My cute yellow nails were done.

It takes me about three hours because I spent much time on drawing kawaii faces. But actually, it’s much faster if you don’t draw them, it’s really hard for me.
I’m really happy with how they turned out. They’re so cheerful and fun, and they definitely put a smile on my face. I’ve gotten so many compliments on them already! I’ll definitely be trying out more yellow nail designs in the future. Maybe next time I’ll try some with sunflowers or something. We’ll see!
To match my new nails, I think I’ll start wearing more white, black, or neutral-toned outfits to really make the yellow pop. Or maybe I’ll find some cute tops with yellow accents to subtly match. I’m excited to experiment with different looks!
