This here thing, this Daria Fashion Club, well, let me tell you. It’s somethin’ else. All them high school girls, they all wanna be in it. Like flies to honey, they are. It’s a big deal, you see. Daria Fashion Club, that’s the name. And it’s all about lookin’ good, I reckon.
That Sandi, she’s the boss of it all. She’s the president, they call her. And then there’s this Quinn girl. She’s the number two, the vice-president. They pretend to like each other, but you know how it is. Girls are like that. Always competin’. Quinn, she wants to be on top, and Sandi, she’s scared of losing her spot. It’s a whole mess, if you ask me.
Now, that Quinn, she’s somethin’. She’s got a sister, Daria. They ain’t nothin’ alike, no sir. Quinn, she’s all popular and pretty, runnin’ with that Fashion Club crowd. Daria, she’s different. She don’t care ’bout all that fluff. Then there’s their mama, Helen. She’s got her hands full with them two, I tell ya.
They got these other girls in the club, too. Tiffany and Stacey. Four of ’em in total. Sandi, Tiffany, Stacey, and Quinn. They’re the queens of the school, walkin’ around like they own the place. They set the rules for what’s good and what ain’t. A lot of girls wanna be number five, but it ain’t that easy to get in.
So what do they do, these Fashion Club girls? Well, they talk about clothes, I guess. And boys. And who’s wearin’ what. It’s all so silly. Back in my day, we didn’t have no Fashion Club. We just wore what we had. And we didn’t make such a fuss about it, neither.
I heard some folks sayin’ that in some schools, these fashion clubs, they teach you how to sew and make clothes. And use them fancy computers to draw pictures of dresses and such. That sounds kinda useful, I guess. But this Daria Fashion Club? I don’t know. Seems like a lot of nothin’ to me.
- Sandi – she’s the big cheese, the president.
- Quinn – she’s second in command, the vice-president.
- Stacey – she’s just there, I guess.
- Tiffany – her too, just another one of ’em.
This Daria, she’s a smart one. She was just a little thing, a sophomore they call it, when it all started. Then she got older, graduated, they say. Eighteen years old, she was. Time sure does fly. And that boy, Tom, she ended up with him. Can you believe it? After all that drama with her friend Jane. They made up though. Their friendship, it was stronger than any boy trouble.
This Quinn girl, I think she’s one of the best ones in that whole Daria show, even if she is in that Fashion Club. I just don’t get what they really do though. Decide what’s fashionable? Make people dress a certain way? It’s all beyond me, I swear.
You know, all these young folks and their clubs. It’s a different world now. Back in my day, we didn’t have all these fancy names for things. We just had our friends, and we did things together. We didn’t need no club to tell us who we were or what to wear.
I saw this thing on the internet, some person was saying they were gonna talk about the rules for this Daria Fashion Club. Rules! Can you believe it? Like it’s some kind of secret society or somethin’. It’s all just a bunch of teenage girl stuff if you ask me. Nothin’ to get your knickers in a twist about.
This whole Daria Fashion Club, it’s a big to-do about nothin’. But I guess that’s just how it is these days. Kids and their fancy clubs. They gotta have somethin’ to keep ’em busy, I suppose. Just hope they don’t get too caught up in all that nonsense. There’s more to life than clothes and bein’ popular, you know. A whole lot more. This whole internet thing, with the cookies and the services, it is all a bit too much for me. I just hope these young’uns remember what’s really important.
