Okay, so I’ve been wanting to try out dark red nails for a while now. I finally decided to go for it, and let me tell you, it was a whole process!

First, I started by scrolling through tons of pictures online. I mean, there are so many shades of dark red, right? Burgundy, maroon, wine… you name it. I finally settled on a deep, almost blood-red color that I thought would look good with my skin tone.
Next, I had to choose the shape. I usually go for oval, but I was feeling a bit adventurous, so I decided to try an almond shape. I grabbed my nail file and started shaping them. It took a while to get them all even, but I think it was worth it. Almond shape really gives that elegant, elongated look.
Now for the fun part – applying the polish! I put on a base coat first, you know, to protect my nails and make the color last longer. Then came the moment of truth. I carefully applied the first coat of that gorgeous dark red. It looked a bit streaky at first, but that’s normal, right?
- I waited for the first coat to dry completely.
- Then, I applied a second coat to get that rich, opaque color.
- It looked so much better already!
After the second coat, I sealed everything with a glossy top coat. This not only added shine but also helped prevent chipping. Gotta make that manicure last, you know?
Honestly, I’m obsessed with how they turned out. The dark red is so bold and makes me feel kinda powerful. Plus, the almond shape adds a touch of sophistication. People have been giving me compliments, some say men will love the red nail, I’m not sure about that! But, I love it. And I think I’ve found my new go-to nail look. What do you guys think? Should I try a matte top coat next time? Let me know in the comments!
