Hey everyone! So, I finally got around to trying to snag some tickets to New York Fashion Week, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey. I’ve always been into fashion, but I never thought I’d actually try to go to one of these things. Figured it was just for the big shots, you know?
Getting Started
First off, I started poking around online to see if it was even possible for a regular person like me to get tickets. Turns out, it is! There’s this thing called The Bureau Fashion Week that sells tickets to the public. Who knew?
The Process
I found out that most of these fashion shows are “invitation only”. Which, yeah, makes sense. It’s a big deal. But apparently, getting an invite is super tough if you’re not connected in the industry. I mean, I’ve been to a couple of smaller shows before, so I know how hard it can be, I thought I don’t have any connections, how can I get there?
- I dug around some more and found out that The Bureau Fashion Week is one of the places that actually lets you buy tickets.
- So, I went to their website, but I don’t know why there’s no any information about the tickets.
- Then I tried to contact them directly.
- After several times of waiting, I finally got the reply.
The Price Tag
Alright, so here’s the deal with the money. I heard somewhere that the average salary for people working at New York Fashion Week is around $110 a year. Now, I don’t know if that’s true or not, but it got me thinking about how much these tickets might cost. Turns out, they can be pretty pricey. I saw some going for a few hundred bucks, and others were way more than that. This one is not friendly for a student like me.
Making the Decision
After all that, I had to decide if I really wanted to drop that kind of cash. I mean, it’s Fashion Week! It would be amazing to go. But, could I justify spending that much? I thought about it for a while, talked to a couple of friends, and in the end, I decided to go for it, but only for one of the less expensive shows. YOLO, right?
Final Thoughts
So, yeah, that’s my story of trying to get tickets to New York Fashion Week. It was a bit of a rollercoaster, but I’m excited I’m actually going. I’ll definitely share some pics and let you all know how it goes. Wish me luck!
