Okay, here’s my story about flared jeans and tops:

So, I saw these flared jeans online the other day, and I thought, “Hey, those look kinda cool, maybe I should give them a try.” I’ve always been more of a skinny jeans kinda gal, but I’m trying to branch out, you know? I ordered a pair from Zara online – they had a pretty good selection, so I picked out a dark wash pair that I figured would go with most of my stuff.
When they arrived, I tried them on, and I gotta say, it was a bit of a shock at first. They were fitted around my butt and thighs, which was good, but then they flared out a lot at the bottom. It felt kinda weird, like I was wearing bell bottoms or something! I definitely noticed how they made my legs look longer, though. That’s a plus!
Finding the Right Top
The real challenge was figuring out what top to wear with them. I tried a few different things from my closet. A flowy, boho-style top seemed like a good idea, since these jeans have that kind of vibe. I also tried a fitted top. It created a nice balance. I think I preferred the tighter top in the end. It just looked more put together, and the contrast with the wide legs of the jeans was kinda cool.
- First, I tried on a loose, flowy top.
- Then, I switched to a tighter, more form-fitting top.
- Finally, I even threw on a simple t-shirt to see how it looked.
I definitely learned that you gotta be careful with accessories when you’re wearing flares. I usually pile on the necklaces and bracelets, but with these jeans, it just felt like too much. The jeans are already making a statement, so I kept the rest of my outfit pretty simple. And no way I was going to wear a jean jacket, that was just not going to happen, too much denim.
So yeah, that’s my flared jeans adventure. It took some getting used to, but I think I’m starting to like them. They’re definitely different, and they make me feel kinda stylish, in a retro way. I probably won’t wear them every day, but it’s nice to have another option besides my usual skinny jeans. I might even try a lighter wash next time, just to see how they look.
