So, the other day, I got this itch to try out some new fragrances. You know, something fancy, something that would make me feel like a million bucks without actually costing that much. That’s when I stumbled upon Frederic Malle, the brand.

Turns out, this Frederic Malle guy, he’s like perfume royalty or something. His grandpa started Christian Dior’s perfume line, so the dude’s got it in his blood. Anyway, I started digging around, reading reviews, and checking out their website.
First off, the prices.
Man, some of these bottles are expensive! But then again, some folks online are saying they’re totally worth it. Like, this one perfume, “Portrait of a Lady,” people were going nuts for it, even though it’s not cheap. Then there’s another one, “Musc Ravageur,” that’s a bit more affordable, and people seem to love that one, too.
Then I found out about “The Night.”
It’s got Turkish rose, oud, and frankincense. Sounds exotic, right? Apparently, it’s one of their most expensive ones because they use all these rare and top-notch ingredients. I read somewhere that it goes for around 875 bucks a bottle. Geez!
But, here’s the thing.
- I couldn’t just go to a store and try them out.
- So, I found out that their website sells these little sample sets.
- 20 bucks for three samples. Not bad, right?
- I ordered a few, including “Carnal Flower,” “Lys Mediterranee,” and “L’Eau d’Hiver.”
- I’ve been dying to try out these.
While I was waiting for my samples, I did some more digging. Turns out, Frederic Malle sold his company to Estée Lauder in 2015. No idea how much he got for it, but probably a lot.
Also, I learned that the price of perfume depends on a bunch of stuff.
Like, the cost of the raw materials, the packaging, and all the people in between who get a cut before the perfume reaches the store.
Finally, my samples arrived!
I’ve been trying them out, and they’re pretty interesting. I’m still figuring out which one I like best, but it’s been a fun little adventure. Will let y’all know how it turns out later.
Anyway, that’s my little journey into the world of Frederic Malle perfumes. It’s been a mix of excitement, sticker shock, and trying to figure out what all these fancy scents are all about. Stay tuned, folks!
