Man, making this Gucci magazine cover was a wild ride, let me tell you. I’ve always been a huge fan of Gucci, ever since I was a kid. Their designs are just so iconic and timeless. So, when I got the idea to make a magazine cover featuring their latest collection, I knew I had to make it happen.

First thing I did was dive into some research. I went through Gucci’s history, starting from way back in 1921 when Guccio Gucci first opened up shop. Learned a bunch about the family drama in the 80s and how the company changed hands a few times before becoming part of the Kering group. Pretty interesting stuff, actually. Then, I checked out their latest collections, especially the stuff by Sabato De Sarno. Man, that guy has some serious talent.
After getting a good grasp of the brand and the current styles, I started brainstorming ideas for the cover. I scrolled through tons of their social media posts, especially one from May 22nd that got a ton of likes and comments, and I also looked at some of their older publications, like the 16th edition of “A Magazine Curated By.” I wanted the cover to be unique, something that really showcased Gucci in a new light, but also stayed true to their classic vibe.
I played around with a bunch of different layouts and concepts. I even came across this cool idea of a spiral-bound calendar-style magazine, where each month features a different artist. Thought that was pretty neat. But I wanted something more… I don’t know, more me.
Finally, I had a breakthrough. I decided to create a collage-style cover, mixing different elements from Gucci’s history and their latest designs. I picked out some of my favorite pieces from the new collection and started arranging them on the page. It took a lot of trial and error, moving things around, resizing images, and playing with different color schemes. I even added some text, like quotes and short essays, to give it a more personal touch.
I spent hours working on this thing, tweaking it until it was just right. And you know what? I’m actually pretty proud of how it turned out. It’s got that classic Gucci elegance, but with a modern twist. It’s something I would actually want to pick up off the shelf if I saw it in a store.

Oh, and I found out that this new thing called “FUTURA PROXIMA” is up for pre-order starting December 1st. I’ll be keeping my eye out for that.
Anyways, this whole project was a blast. It was a great way to combine my love for Gucci with my passion for design. I might even do more of these in the future. Who knows, maybe I’ll tackle another iconic brand next time. Stay tuned!
