Today, I wanted to share a little adventure I had getting into a Graff auction. It all started when I stumbled upon some information about this big-shot jeweler, Graff. You know, the name kept popping up here and there, especially when talking about super rare diamonds and stuff.

So, I got curious. I mean, who wouldn’t be, right? I did a bit of digging, just your regular Google searching, and found out that this Laurence Graff guy, the founder, he’s like the king of diamonds. Started from scratch in London and now he’s got this huge jewelry empire. That’s quite a story!
- First off, I started searching on Google, just trying to get a feel for what Graff was all about.
- Then I checked out some auction sites, like Sotheby’s and Phillips, where they sometimes have Graff pieces up for bidding.
I looked around the Graff official site, just browsing through their shiny collections, you know, dreaming a little. I saw they had all these fancy names for their collections – Hallucination, Bombe, Butterfly, Carissa, Peony, Bow, Snowfall… they really know how to make things sound magical.
Now, I’ve never been to a real auction before, let alone one with stuff worth probably more than my whole life. But I figured, why not try to get into one of these Graff auctions? It sounded like a whole different world. I learned that places like Bonhams, Phillips, and Sotheby’s often have these auctions, both online and in-person.
So, I signed up for a few newsletters and kept an eye out for any upcoming events. It felt like I was preparing for some top-secret mission or something. After a few weeks, bingo! I got an email about an online auction featuring a Graff sapphire and diamond ring. It was happening in Geneva, but I could bid from my computer.
The day of the auction, I was pretty nervous. I mean, I wasn’t planning to actually buy anything, but just being part of it was exciting. I watched the bids go up and up, and wow, those numbers were insane! That sapphire ring ended up selling for a price that I could only dream of.

Even though I didn’t buy anything, it was an awesome experience. It felt like I got a little peek into this super exclusive world of luxury and high-stakes bidding. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll be back, but this time with a bigger budget!
What I Learned
This whole experience taught me a lot about the world of high-end jewelry and auctions. It’s not just about the bling, it’s about the history, the craftsmanship, and the thrill of the bid. It’s like a whole culture of its own, and I’m glad I got to dip my toes in it, even if it was just virtually.
