Today, I wanna talk about my experience on The RealReal. You know, that online spot where you can buy and sell fancy stuff.

So, first off, I signed up on their website. It’s pretty simple, just like any other online account you make. Once I was in, I started looking at what kinda things people were selling. Bags, clothes, shoes, you name it. All high-end brands, you know, the ones you see in those glossy magazines.
I had this designer bag that I never used. Perfect condition, but it just wasn’t my style anymore. So, I decided to sell it. I took some photos, wrote a description, and set a price. I also had to choose how to send it to them. They offer a free shipping label, which is super convenient. I packed it up real good, slapped on the label, and dropped it off at the post office.

It took a couple of days for them to receive it. Then they check it to make sure it’s real and in good condition. If all good, they take their own photos and put it up for sale on their site. They handle all that stuff, which is pretty neat. A few days later, I got an email saying my bag was listed. I just had to wait for someone to buy it.
Luckily, it sold pretty quickly, within the first week. I guess someone really liked it. Then I got paid. They take a commission, of course, but I still made a good amount. You can choose to get paid by direct deposit, site credit (which gives you a bonus), or a check. I went with direct deposit, and the money was in my account in no time.
Honestly, the whole process was pretty smooth. They handle most of the heavy lifting. You just provide the goods and wait for the sale. It’s a good way to clean out your closet and make some extra cash. I heard some items take a while to sell, but mine went fast. I guess it depends on what you’re selling and if it’s popular at the moment.

I see some people sharing that you can get a $100 credit if you’re new and sell something between July 1st and July 31st, 2024. Not bad, right? Also, apparently, things sell faster on The RealReal because they have a ton of shoppers, like 25 million or something. And you can earn up to 85% of the sale price. That’s way more than other places. I’ve seen real estate agents do something similar with luxury houses, figuring out what rich folks like.
Anyway, that was my experience selling on The RealReal. It’s a legit way to sell your luxury stuff if you’re looking to get rid of it. Just remember, there’s no guarantee when or how much you’ll make, just like with selling houses.
