Okay, let me tell you about this whole Jordan 1 Satin Royal thing. It all started when I saw some buzz online about this new release. I’m not a hardcore sneakerhead or anything, but I do appreciate a good-looking shoe, and the pictures of these were kinda fire.
So, I did some digging. Apparently, this isn’t the first time they’ve done a satin version of the Jordan 1. I guess they did a “Bred” colorway before, and those were pretty hyped up. Anyway, these Royal ones were supposed to be a women’s exclusive, which I thought was pretty cool. Usually those are a little easier to get because the sizes are smaller and there’s less demand, especially because I see dudes with small feet trying to cop, and they’re not even for you, bro, chill.
I kept an eye on the release date and made sure I was ready when they dropped. I signed up for some alerts for the drop. Luckily, I managed to grab a pair! When they arrived, I gotta say, I was pretty stoked. The satin material is definitely different. It’s got this sheen to it that makes the blue pop. Honestly, the pictures online didn’t even do them justice. They looked even better in person.
First Impressions
The color-blocking is classic Jordan 1, with the white, black, and blue. Nothing too crazy there. It’s the material that really sets these apart. And they numbered these, which usually means they made a limited amount, so that’s kind of cool, I guess. I’m not planning on reselling them or anything, but it’s nice to know they’re a bit more exclusive. I saw people online asking crazy prices for these, like, close to a thousand bucks in some cases. That’s just wild to me. I got mine for the regular price, thankfully.
Trying Them On
I threw them on with some jeans and a simple white tee, and they looked pretty dope, if I do say so myself. I wore them around the house for a bit, just to see how they felt. Honestly, they were pretty comfortable right out of the box. I took them out for a spin later that day, just running some errands, and they held up great. No weird creasing or anything, which is something I was kind of worried about with the satin.
Final Thoughts
All in all, I’m really happy with these. They’re definitely a statement piece, but they’re not so loud that you can’t wear them regularly. I can see myself rocking these quite a bit. Whether you’re into Jordans or not, I think these are worth checking out. Just don’t pay those crazy resale prices. Wait for a restock or something, man. They’re just shoes, after all. But damn, they’re some good-looking shoes. I just kept finding myself looking down at my feet all day, admiring that satin sheen. Even my girl was like, “Okay, I get it, they’re nice shoes.” Haha, anyway, that’s my little story about the Jordan 1 Satin Royal. Hope you enjoyed it.
Word to the wise, if you’re looking for something a bit more low-key, maybe go for the Jordan 1 Mid. They’re usually easier to get, and they’re pretty comfy too. But if you want something that’ll turn some heads, these Satin Royals are definitely the way to go.
