So, I finally got my hands on the Longines Legend Diver 39. I’d been eyeing it for a while, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey to get here. It’s one of those watches that just keeps popping up when you’re in the watch world, you know?

First off, I was checking out all the usual watch blogs and forums, and it seemed like everyone was talking about this new 39mm version coming out. Most said that I need to wait till 2025, the original box looks nice. The price tag was a bit all over the place, some people were quoting around 2, some were saying near 3.
I started hitting up all the authorized dealers near me. Most of them hadn’t even heard about the 39mm version yet. A couple of places had the 36mm one in stock, which, honestly, is a great watch too. But I had my heart set on the 39.
Searching for it
- Called every authorized Longines dealer within a 50-mile radius.
- Checked online forums and marketplaces daily.
- Set up alerts on a few websites just in case someone listed one.
Then, one day, I stumbled upon a post on a watch forum, some guy was talking about finding one at a small, independent jeweler. I found the contact and give a call. And guess what? They had one left! Apparently, they got a small shipment in, and it hadn’t even been put on display yet.
I drove there right away, and there it was, the Longines Legend Diver 39, in all its glory. The gray dial looked even better in person than it did in pictures. And that original box, man, it was a thing of beauty. But I gotta be honest, seeing “2025” on the papers made me chuckle a bit, considering it’s still 2024. I guess they’re getting ahead of themselves. It’s the last one!
Anyway, after all that searching, I finally got it. And let me tell you, it was worth the wait. It’s such a cool watch, and it feels great on the wrist. It looks like I can wear it every day.

This whole experience just goes to show that sometimes the best finds are off the beaten path. If you’re looking for something special, don’t be afraid to dig a little deeper and check out those smaller, independent shops. You never know what you might find!
I guess I’ll wear this watch every day. It really looks good on me!
