Okay, here’s my story about that gold bar contest.
Man, you will not believe what happened to me the other day. I was just scrolling through my phone, wasting time, you know, when I saw this ad for a “gold bar contest.” A chance to win a real gold bar! The ad said something like “Unlock Your Chance to Win Pure Gold Bars!” I thought, “Why not?” I mean, who doesn’t want a gold bar?
So, I clicked on it. It took me to this page where you had to enter some kind of competition. Apparently, it was some kind of promotion thing. It said, “Win a gold bar for only 99p!” and “10 grams of pure 24 carat gold!” I’m no expert, but that sounded pretty good. The name of the company running it was Baird & Co. I looked them up on Google real fast, and they were a precious metals company. Okay, legit. There was also a brand called RITZ that was dropping a butter-flavored cracker and celebrating their launch with a new promotion.
I read the rules, and it seemed pretty straightforward. You had to do a few things to enter. Nothing too crazy, like share something on social media, write a short answer to some question and stuff like that. It mentioned some brands like Umicore, Metalor, and Heraeus, but I didn’t pay too much attention to that. I was focused on the gold, to be honest. It also said, “We are the UK’s biggest FREE competitions site, listing more free to enter competitions than anyone else. Enter today to win cash, win cars.” There were also some things about Candy Crush players, but I just skipped that part.
I spent, like, maybe 10 minutes doing all the entry stuff. It wasn’t hard, just a little tedious. I almost gave up, but then I imagined myself holding that shiny gold bar. That kept me going! I saw that they provided precious metals that are individually segregated – gold, silver, platinum.
- I started by filling in my details.
- Then, I shared the contest on my Facebook page.
- After that, I had to write why I deserved to win. I think I wrote something cheesy like “I’ve always dreamed of striking gold!”
- Finally, I submitted my entry and crossed my fingers.
After I entered, I kind of forgot about it. I mean, what were the chances I’d actually win, right? But then, a few weeks later, I got an email. I almost deleted it, thinking it was spam. But then I saw the subject line: “Congratulations! You’ve Won a Gold Bar!”

I couldn’t believe my eyes! I opened the email, and there it was, in black and white. I had won! They asked me to confirm my details for delivery. It was nuts! I really won a gold bar!
A Dream Come True
A few days later, a package arrived. And there it was, a small but heavy gold bar. It was the real deal! 10 grams of pure, shiny gold. I felt like I had won the lottery! All that from just a few minutes of clicking around on my phone. So yeah, that’s my story about the gold bar contest. It was a wild ride, but totally worth it. I’m still amazed that I actually won. Now, I just have to decide what to do with it. It’s crazy, right?
