Okay, so, I’ve been meaning to upgrade my bedding situation for a while now. I finally decided to treat myself to a silk bedding set. Let me tell you, it’s been a game changer, but the whole process wasn’t as smooth as I expected.

First, I started browsing around, just to see what my options were. I hit up a few different stores. I went to Macy’s. You know, I saw some pretty good deals there, especially on sheet sets. But then I remembered Target usually has some good stuff too, and sometimes, I can just order online and pick it up on the same day. Super convenient, right?
After checking out a few places, I was kind of overwhelmed. There are so many different types of silk, different thread counts, and all that jazz. I mean, I saw one set at a department store that was labeled “Egyptian Cotton Association”, whatever that means, and it was a 1400 thread count! I was like, “Whoa, that’s a lot of threads!” But was it really worth it? I didn’t know.
So, I did what any normal person would do: I started diving deep into online reviews. I spent hours reading about mulberry silk, momme counts, and all these other terms I’d never heard before. My brain was fried. Honestly, it felt like I was back in school, studying for a test I didn’t even know I had.
I browsed several department stores like Macy’s and Target looking for bedding sets.
I felt overwhelmed by the information about thread counts and types of silk.
I decided to read online reviews to educate myself on mulberry silk and momme counts.
Eventually, I made a decision. I chose a mid-range set that seemed like a good balance between quality and price. I placed my order online and waited (not so) patiently for it to arrive. When the package finally came, I was so excited! I ripped it open, threw the sheets on my bed, and… well, they felt amazing. Seriously, it’s like sleeping on a cloud. I never realized how much of a difference bedding could make.
But, here’s the thing. Taking care of these sheets is a whole other story. You can’t just throw them in the washing machine like regular sheets. Nope, there’s a whole process. Special detergent, delicate cycle, air drying… it’s a bit of a pain, to be honest. But, I guess that’s the price you pay for luxury, right?
My Silk Bedding Journey
I decided on a mid-range silk bedding set after much research.
I was excited when the sheets arrived and they feel amazing to sleep on.
I discovered that caring for silk sheets requires a special washing process, which can be a hassle.
Overall, despite the complicated buying process and the high-maintenance care routine, I’m really happy with my silk bedding set. I do sleep better, and my skin and hair seem to like it, too. It’s definitely a splurge, but for me, it’s been worth it. I just hope I don’t accidentally ruin them in the wash!
