Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get a new bag, and the Louis Vuitton Neverfull has been on my radar for a while. I mean, it’s a classic, right? But before I dropped some serious cash, I wanted to make sure it was the right size for me. So, I dove into a little measurement project. You know, gotta be thorough!
First things first, I grabbed my trusty measuring tape. You can’t do a measurement project without one! Then, I started looking at the different sizes available. There’s the PM, the MM, and the GM. From what I found, these are basically code for small, medium, and large. I am looking for one that can be used for daily use, and also big enough for commuting.
I started with the GM. This one’s the big mama of the bunch. I measured out the dimensions I found online: 15.7 inches long, 13 inches high, and 7.9 inches wide. I used some cardboard boxes and my measuring tape to visualize the size. It’s definitely roomy! You could fit a lot in there. I even tested it out by throwing in my laptop, a water bottle, and a few other things. No problem at all.

- MM size: 12.6 x 11.4 x 6.7 inches
- PM size: 11.4 x 8.7 x 5.1 inches
Next up was the MM. This is supposedly the most popular size. The dimensions are around 12.6 inches long, 11.4 inches high, and 6.7 inches wide. I did the same cardboard box trick. It’s a good size, but after trying the GM, I felt like it might be a bit too snug for all my stuff. Especially if I wanted to throw in a light jacket or something.
Finally, I checked out the PM. It’s the smallest of the bunch, measuring about 11.4 inches long, 8.7 inches high, and 5.1 inches wide. Honestly, it felt more like a regular purse than a tote bag. It would be fine for everyday essentials, but not much more than that.
After all that measuring and visualizing, I decided to go with the GM. I know some people say it’s too big, but I like having the extra space. Plus, you can cinch in the sides to make it look smaller if you want. I went to the store to check it in person. There is an official Louis Vuitton store in my city, which is in the Mall of America.
The material feels really good, it is made from supple Monogram canvas with natural cowhide trim. I love how it is roomy yet not bulky. I also tried the classic Monogram Canvas version, it features the iconic LV monogram pattern, which looks so classic and stylish.
