Alright, let’s gab about this Lui Magazine thing. I ain’t no fancy scholar or nothin’, but I can tell ya what I see, ya know?

So, this Lui Magazine, sounds like it’s been around a good long while. Started way back in 1963 by some fella named Daniel Filipacchi. He used to take pictures of clothes, then he started makin’ this magazine. They even call it “Him” in French, which I guess means it’s for the fellas, the men-folk. Not for us gals, I reckon.
Now, what’s in this magazine, you ask? Well, from what I gather, it’s got a whole lotta pictures of pretty people. Young fellas and gals, all dolled up. They call ’em models, like them mannequins in the store windows, only these ones move and breathe, ha!
- They got fellas like Etienne de Testa, Alexis Tiem, Anis Ben Choug, and Youssou Camara. Fancy names, ain’t they?
- And the gals, oh my, they got Carmen Kassovitz and Mathea Lucchini. Pretty as pictures, them girls. And a Lena Simonne, too, wearin’ fancy underwear and sneakers. My, my!
- And there’s a Rafael Miller fella too. All lookin’ real stylish, like they stepped right outta a dream.
And they ain’t just takin’ pictures of any ol’ clothes, mind you. This Lui Magazine, it’s all about the high-falutin’ fashion. Stuff like Louis Vuitton, you heard of that? Expensive stuff, I tell ya. The kind you see in them big city stores, not in our little town, that’s for sure.
They got photographers takin’ these pictures, real artists, I guess. Folks like Lee Wei Swee and Emmanuel Giraud. They make these models look real good, all posed and smilin’. And then there’s the makeup folks, like Georgi Sandev, makin’ sure everybody looks perfect. It’s a whole production, like a play or somethin’.
I saw somethin’ about them callin’ it “stylish squad goals”. Sounds like a bunch of young’uns gettin’ together and lookin’ good, you know? Like them cheerleaders in high school, all matchy-matchy and smilin’. Only these folks are wearin’ fancy designer clothes instead of uniforms.

And this magazine, it ain’t just for show, neither. It’s got some history to it, they say. It’s one of them “iconic publications,” whatever that means. Sounds important, though. Like it’s been around a long time and people pay attention to it. Especially folks who care about fashion, I guess. They probably look at this magazine to see what’s new and trendy.
They got different issues, too. Like one for December and January, another for the fall, and one for winter. Each one got its own theme, I reckon. Like one had a “Love Story” thing going on. Probably lots of romantic pictures, you know? And another one focused on Louis Vuitton menswear. That’s for the fellas, of course. Can’t forget about them.
Lui Magazine, it’s been around for decades. Seventies, eighties, all the way up to now. They even had some “wonderful covers” back in the seventies, they say. I bet them old magazines are worth somethin’ now, huh? Like them old coins and stamps people collect. Who knew a magazine could be like that?
So, that’s the gist of it, as far as I can tell. Lui Magazine is a fancy French magazine for men, full of pretty people wearin’ expensive clothes. It’s been around a long time and it’s considered a big deal in the fashion world. Not my cup of tea, personally, but hey, to each their own, right?
I’d rather read my Farmer’s Almanac any day. At least that tells me when to plant my tomatoes and when the fish are bitin’. But this Lui Magazine, well, it’s a whole different world, ain’t it? A world of fashion and glamour and pretty faces. And that’s alright, I guess. Someone’s gotta keep up with all them trends, even if it ain’t me.

So, if you’re into that kinda thing, go on and give it a look. But me? I’ll stick to my overalls and my garden. That’s where I belong, and that’s where I’m happy. This Lui Magazine stuff, it’s just a little too fancy for this ol’ gal.
