Okay, so 2014, right? What a year for fashion. I remember I was super into trying to keep up with all the trends back then. It was a wild ride, let me tell you.

First off, I started digging into what was supposedly “in.” I scoured through tons of blogs, you know, the usual spots on Tumblr and such. Everyone was talking about collarless coats, which, if you think about it, kinda had that ’60s Hollywood vibe. I got myself a couple of those coats, and they were pretty versatile. I remember pairing them with jeans, some pencil skirts, and even a few dresses. Worked like a charm!
Then there were these long pleated skirts. Man, they were everywhere! I ditched my usual maxis and pencils for these. They had this preppy look that I was really digging. Plus, they were super comfy for just walking around or whatever. I felt like I could actually move in them, which was a nice change of pace.
Lace Minidresses and High-Low Skirts
- I experimented with lace minidresses too.
- They were all the rage, especially in bright colors.
- I picked up a few, felt pretty snazzy in them, not gonna lie.
- And high-low skirts?
- I jumped on that bandwagon too. They just looked good on everyone.
Faux fur was another big thing. I saw it all over the runways – bright colors, sleek styles, you name it. I added a few pieces to my wardrobe, mostly jackets and some with fur collars. They definitely made a statement.
I even tried to keep track of what celebs were wearing. A lot of them were into those lacy looks. It was like, every time I checked out a red carpet event, there was someone in a lace minidress or a high-low skirt. I took inspiration from that, for sure.
Honestly, it was a bit exhausting trying to follow every single trend, but it was also kinda fun. I learned a lot about what I liked and what worked for me. Fashion in 2014 was definitely a mix of everything – retro, modern, bold, you name it. I ended up with a pretty diverse closet by the end of the year, that’s for sure!

Looking back, I probably wouldn’t go all-in on every trend like I did then, but it was a fun experience. It’s cool to see how styles have changed since then, but 2014 definitely had its own unique flavor. I enjoyed those trends.
That’s all about my experience about outfits trends 2014, hope you enjoy it.
