So, I recently got my hands on this Seiko Green Turtle, and let me tell you, it’s been quite a ride. I’d been eyeing a Seiko Turtle for a while, you know, hearing about them all over the place. Seemed like everyone was talking about the Turtle models and how great they are. I’m not into those super fancy watches, but a solid, reliable, and cool-looking one? That’s my jam.

I did a bit of digging, not too much, just enough to get an idea. Found out that Seiko has this whole Turtle family. Apparently, they started making these back in the 70s. Pretty neat, huh? The original was some model called 6306-7000/1, designed by a guy named Ikuo Tokunaga. Not that I know who he is, but it’s cool to know the history, right?
Anyway, I was browsing, just casually looking, and then I saw it – the Green Turtle. It was one of those “love at first sight” moments, haha. It’s part of their Prospex collection, which I guess is their line of professional-grade watches. Not that I’m a pro diver or anything, but it’s nice to know it’s built tough.
I ended up getting the SRPE05K1 model. It’s called the “King Turtle,” which sounds pretty badass if you ask me. From what I gathered, it’s one of their newer, upgraded models. Seiko seems to make a ton of different Turtles. They have this Blue Lagoon one, too, which is nice but the green one just called to me.
Getting the watch was easy. Ordered it, and boom, it arrived a few days later. The serial number thing was a bit confusing. It’s on the back, and if it’s a limited edition, you only use part of it. Mine’s not, so I guess I use the whole thing? Doesn’t really matter, I’m not planning on reselling it.
- Unboxing it was fun. It comes in a nice box, nothing too extravagant, but solid.
- First impressions? The green dial is even better in person. It’s not too flashy, but it definitely catches the eye.
- The watch feels heavy, in a good way. Like, it feels like it can take a beating.
I’ve been wearing it for a few weeks now, and I’m really digging it. It’s comfortable, keeps time well, and looks great with pretty much anything I wear. I even took it swimming a couple of times, just to test it out, and it held up like a champ. No water got in, and it still looks brand new.

My Final Thoughts
Honestly, I’m super happy with this purchase. It’s exactly what I was looking for – a tough, good-looking watch that I can wear every day without worrying about it. If you’re thinking about getting a Seiko Turtle, I’d say go for it. Just do a little research to figure out which model is right for you, because there are a lot of them. But yeah, the Green Turtle? Two thumbs up from me!
