Okay, so, I had this idea to go to a Sunflower Bean concert. I’d heard some of their stuff before, and it seemed like a good time. So I looked up their tour schedule online.
I found that they were playing at Lincoln Hall in Chicago on October 21, 2016. That was a while back, but I still remember it like it was yesterday. I was pretty stoked, so I made sure to get my tickets early.
When the day of the concert arrived, I was ready to go. I got to the venue, which was pretty packed, and found a spot where I could see the stage. I grabbed a drink and waited for the show to start.
The band came on, and the crowd went wild. They opened with a song I hadn’t heard before, but it was good. Then they started playing some of their more popular tunes, and everyone was singing along. I know I sure was.
I decided to write down all the songs they played, you know, the setlist. It was cool to see how they structured their show, mixing in new stuff with the old favorites. I think it helped the sound and lighting guys do their thing, too. That’s what I read online, anyway. Not that I made up things as I go, but it is fun.
The Setlist
- The first song was new to me, but I liked it.
- They played a bunch of songs from their albums.
- I sang along to a lot of them.
- The energy in the room was amazing.
- I even tried to get some videos, not professional or anything, but just to remember the night.
I also noticed there was a sign-up sheet for their mailing list at the merch table. I put down my name and email. I figured, why not? Maybe I’ll get some news about upcoming shows or new music.

Anyway, the concert was awesome. I had a great time, and I’d definitely go see Sunflower Bean again. It was a night to remember, for sure.
