So, I recently got my hands on some snaps from the 2016 Grammys, and I gotta say, Taylor Swift’s outfit caught my eye. I’m not really into fashion, but her getup was kind of a big deal, so I figured I’d give recreating it a shot.

First off, I started digging around to see what she actually wore. Turns out, it was a two-piece thing from Versace, all bright and bold. A strapless orange top and a super pink skirt – totally not my usual style, but hey, why not?
I started by hitting up some online stores, trying to find something similar. It wasn’t easy, I tell ya. Everything was either way too expensive or just didn’t look right. Finally, after what felt like hours, I found a top and skirt that were kind of close.
When the stuff arrived, I tried it on. The top was a bit loose, and the skirt was a little too long, but I wasn’t about to give up. I grabbed some scissors and a needle and got to work. I took in the top a bit and shortened the skirt, trying to get that high-waisted look she had going on.
Now, from the pictures, it looked like she had some fancy necklaces on, one of which was a watch choker. I didn’t have anything like that, but I did find some old necklaces in a box. I layered them on, just like she did, hoping it would look somewhat similar.
Lastly, I tried to do something with my hair. I noticed she had a bob, which I definitely don’t. I ended up just putting it up in a messy bun, figuring it was close enough.

All in all, it was a fun little experiment. It’s definitely not something I’d wear out, but it was cool to try and recreate a look from such a big event. It turned out pretty good, I think, for someone who knows nothing about fashion!

The final Result
So yeah, that’s how I spent my day, trying to be Taylor Swift for a bit. It was interesting, to say the least. Maybe I’ll try another one of these fashion experiments sometime, who knows?
