Okay, so, I’ve been totally obsessed with “Heartstopper” lately. Like, seriously obsessed. I binged both seasons in, like, a day. It’s just so wholesome and sweet, and it really got me in the feels. But then, bam, it was over, and I was left with this huge, empty feeling. So I started thinking, what now? I needed more shows like this in my life, right?

So, I grabbed my laptop and started digging. I typed “tv shows like heartstopper” into the search bar and, man, did I find a ton of stuff! There were articles, forum posts, the whole nine yards. It was a little overwhelming, to be honest.
I spent a good chunk of the next few days diving deep into this. I started making a list, writing down the names of all the shows that people were recommending. Then, I started to look them up one by one. Checked out their trailers, read some reviews, you know, the usual stuff. There were so many options!
My Discovery Process
I focused on a few things that I really liked about “Heartstopper” and tried to find shows that had similar vibes. Things like:
- Sweet, heartwarming stories: I wanted something that would make me feel good, you know?
- LGBTQ+ representation: This was super important to me. “Heartstopper” did such a great job with this, and I wanted to see more of it.
- High school or college settings: I’m a sucker for a good coming-of-age story.
I even made a spreadsheet, can you believe it? I know, I know, it’s a bit much, but I really wanted to keep track of everything. I had columns for the show’s title, where to watch it, a brief summary, and even a rating based on how similar it seemed to “Heartstopper.” I feel like a real nerd saying this, but it really helped me to find some awesome shows.
It was a whole process. I watched a bunch of pilots, some I liked, some I didn’t. I even got a couple of my friends involved, and we had a few watch parties. We’d watch a few episodes of different shows and then talk about them. It was super fun!

After all that, I think I managed to come up with a pretty solid list of shows that give off similar vibes to “Heartstopper.” They’re not exactly the same, of course, but they all share some of the same qualities that made me fall in love with “Heartstopper” in the first place. And you know what? I’m really happy I did all this digging. I’ve discovered some amazing shows that I probably wouldn’t have found otherwise. It’s been a fun little project, and I’m excited to keep watching!
