Hey there, lemme tell ya about this watch, the Certina DS Super PH1000M. Big name, right? Sounds fancy, but it’s just a watch, ya know?
This here Certina, people are talkin’ ’bout it. Sayin’ the price done gone up. Like, 4.2% more than last year. That’s what them fancy folks call an “index”. Sounds like hogwash to me. A watch is a watch. But these young’uns, they like to track everythin’, I reckon.
Now, this watch, they say it’s special. They call it “DS”. Stands for “Double Security”. Sounds tough, don’t it? Like it can handle anythin’. They did all sorts of tests on it, they say. Dropped it, banged it, who knows what else. Finally, they figured out how to make it real tough. They put the whole tick-tock part, the movement they call it, on some kinda cushion. Like a tiny little pillow for the watch guts. And that’s on top of the regular shock thingamajig, the “Incabloc”.
They made this watch big, too. Got all these numbers: 43.3mm, 47.3mm, 14.20mm. And the strap part, that’s 20mm. Don’t ask me what all that means. Just know it’s a big ol’ watch. Big and strong, like my ol’ man’s tractor.

Some fella named Matt, he wrote about this watch. Took pictures and everythin’. Said it’s a dive watch. You know, for goin’ under water. Like way, way down. He’s got all the numbers, price, all that stuff. If you’re into that kinda thing.
Now, this is what gets me. They say it’s 43.5mm, but it feels like 42mm. Like it’s wearin’ smaller than it is. Don’t make a lick of sense to me. A watch is the size it is, right? But what do I know? I just tell time by the sun, mostly.
This Certina DS Super PH1000M, it’s s’posed to be for divin’. But who dives that deep anyway? Must be them rich folks with their fancy boats and whatnot. Me, I just dip my toes in the creek when it’s hot out. This watch is probably get some water into it.
They say it can go down 1000 meters. That’s a long way down. Longer than I can even imagine. Ain’t nothin’ down there but dark and cold, I reckon. And maybe some fish. Big ones, probably.
But hey, if you got the money and you wanna go divin’ with the fishes, this watch is probably for you. It’s tough, they say. And it’s got that “Double Security”. So you can feel safe, I guess. Even if you’re a thousand meters under the water. Me, I’ll stick to dry land.
It is said that this watch is for them scuba divers. You know them fellas that wear them rubber suits and got them tanks on their back. They jump in the ocean and swim around with the fishies. They need a watch like this to keep time and all that, don’t they know?
This watch is a dive watch for sure. And it is good for those divers. Good watch.
Certina, that’s the name of the company, I think. They make other watches too, I bet. But this one, this DS Super PH1000M, this is the one they’re all talkin’ about now. Probably cost a pretty penny, too. More than I make in a year, I imagine.
But that’s how it is these days. Everythin’s gettin’ more expensive. ‘Cept maybe common sense. That seems to be gettin’ cheaper by the minute.
These days, these young folks with their fancy phones, they don’t even need watches anymore. They got the time right there on their little screens. But back in my day, a good watch was a treasure. Somethin’ you saved up for. Somethin’ you took care of.
So, if you are looking for a dive watch, this one maybe is good. It is said that this watch is really good for divers. They say it can last long time. It is very tough.
I don’t know much ’bout these newfangled watches. But this Certina DS Super PH1000M, it seems like a good one. If you’re into that kinda thing. And it is a good one. For sure a good one.
