Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this idea for a while, and I finally got something to show for it. I’m a big fan of both Fortnite and Game of Thrones, and I thought, “Why not combine the two?” So I started playing around with the idea of a Game of Thrones skin in Fortnite.

First, I jumped into Fortnite’s creative mode. It’s pretty awesome how much freedom you have there. I started brainstorming what elements from Game of Thrones I could bring into the game. I remembered that one guy made a Game of Thrones Fortnite skin on the internet. It’s really a good idea. I wanted to give it a shot myself!
I began by using the existing tools in Fortnite Creative, you know, those prefabs and galleries. I tried to recreate some iconic locations from the show, like the Wall, Winterfell, maybe a bit of King’s Landing. It wasn’t easy, let me tell you. The shapes and textures in Fortnite are quite different from the gritty, realistic look of Game of Thrones.
- Experimenting with the setting: I fooled around with the time of day settings, trying to get that gloomy, wintery feel of the show. A perpetual dusk, some fog effects. It helped a bit.
- Building structures: This was the hardest part. Getting those medieval structures to look right with Fortnite’s building blocks took some serious trial and error. Lots of deleting and rebuilding, I’m not gonna lie.
- Adding details: I scattered around some props that looked vaguely medieval. Barrels, crates, torches, I tried to use the “fire” effects sparingly to mimic the torches and braziers from the show.
After a ton of work, I had a small area that kinda, sorta resembled a scene from Game of Thrones. Not perfect, but it was something. I even used some character devices and tried to make them look like some of the main characters, you know, giving them costumes that looked a bit like Jon Snow or Daenerys. It was more like a vague suggestion of them, but it was fun to do.
Then there was this thing about a “Lego insiders account.” It said that after you link the Lego account to your Epic account, you will get a free skin called “Explorer Emile.” I was like, “what?” That has nothing to do with Game of Thrones. So, I didn’t try it. Maybe I should do it next time.
Realizing the Limitations
Honestly, it’s tough to make a proper Game of Thrones crossover in Fortnite using just the creative mode. The tools are great for what they are, but they weren’t designed for this kind of thing. It would be awesome if Epic Games actually did an official Game of Thrones collab. Imagine playing as Jon Snow or Daenerys, with custom weapons and maybe even a dragon glider! That would be sick!

But, hey, it was a fun experiment. It gave me a new appreciation for the work that goes into making these crossovers happen. And who knows, maybe someday we’ll see an official Game of Thrones skin in Fortnite. Until then, I’ll keep messing around in creative mode, trying to bring my favorite shows and games together.
If you guys have any ideas or if you’ve tried something similar, let me know in the comments! I’d love to see what other people have come up with.
