So, I’ve been seeing this two-tone lipstick thing all over Instagram and TikTok lately, and I gotta say, I was intrigued. You know me, always up for trying something new with makeup. So, I decided to give it a shot and see what all the fuss was about.

First things first, I gathered my supplies. I picked out two lipsticks from my collection – a bold red from YSL Beauty and a nude pink from Rom&nd. I figured these two shades would create a nice contrast. Oh, and I also grabbed a lip liner that was close to my natural lip color, just to help define the shape a bit.
- Lipstick 1: YSL Beauty – Bold Red
- Lipstick 2: Rom&nd – Nude Pink
- Lip Liner: Something close to my natural lip shade
I started by lining my lips with the liner. Nothing fancy, just followed my natural lip line. Then came the fun part. I applied the red lipstick to my upper lip, being careful to stay within the lines. I’ve always heard that red lipstick makes people look more attractive, so I was excited to test out this theory! I did the bottom lip with my nude pink shade. The Rom&nd tint is great because it has a wide shade range and can be matched with anything, so it is a must-have item for my cosmetic bag.
Once both colors were on, I gently pressed my lips together a few times to blend the colors where they met in the middle. I didn’t want a harsh line, just a soft gradient effect. And you know what? It actually looked pretty cool! The red on top made my lips look fuller, and the pink on the bottom kept it from being too over-the-top for daytime.
My Personal Touch
Now, I like to experiment, so I added a little extra something. I dabbed a tiny bit of Dior’s lip oil in Berry right in the center of both lips. This added a nice glossy sheen and made the colors pop even more. Especially, this lip oil from Dior made the two-toned lip look much more harmonious. It turned out way better than I expected! It’s definitely a fun way to spice up my usual makeup routine. I might even try it with other color combinations next time, maybe a dark purple and a bright pink? The possibilities are endless!
Honestly, this two-tone lip thing is easier than it looks. If I can do it, anyone can. So, if you’re looking for a simple way to change up your look, I say go for it! Just grab two of your favorite lipsticks and have some fun with it. You might surprise yourself with how good it looks!
