Okay, guys, let’s talk about this Nike Air Foamposite One PRM “Weatherman” that I’ve been messing with. This whole thing started because I was curious about these shoes, you know? They’re kinda famous in the sneaker world.
First off, I got my hands on a pair. I went online and found a size 11, which is my usual size. Paid around 300 bucks, which is a bit steep, but, well, I really wanted to try them out. The price seemed to vary a lot online, from like 70 bucks all the way up to 900. Mine were somewhere in the middle, I guess.
When they arrived, I unboxed them and the first thing I noticed was the design. It’s supposed to look like a weather radar, with all these crazy patterns on the upper. It’s definitely an eye-catcher, let me tell you. The upper part is made of this foam material. They told me it was made by pouring hot polyurethane liquid into molds. I guess that’s why they call them Foamposites.
Then, I tried them on. They felt a bit stiff at first, not gonna lie. But I read somewhere that they’re supposed to mold to your feet after a while. Like, the foam is supposed to get all soft and comfy once you break them in. So, I started wearing them around the house, just to get used to the feel.
After a few days of walking in them, I noticed they were starting to feel a bit more comfortable. Not super comfy yet, but definitely better than when I first put them on. It’s like they were slowly starting to shape themselves around my feet. It felt pretty cool, honestly.
I also did some digging online, and it turns out these things are pretty durable. People say the foam lasts forever, like, even longer than the glue that holds the shoe together! That’s good news, considering how much they cost.
Here’s what I found out about how they make these shoes:
- They heat up this polyurethane liquid to like 175 degrees.
- Then they pour it into these molds to make the upper part of the shoe.
- The middle part of the shoe, the midsole, is also made of this polyurethane stuff.
So, after wearing them for a couple of weeks now, I can say they’re getting there. They’re not the most comfortable shoes right out of the box, but they’re definitely getting better. And they look pretty awesome, if you’re into that whole weather radar vibe.
My Overall Impression
These Foamposites are interesting. They’re tough, they look unique, and they seem like they’ll last a long time. You just gotta be patient with the break-in period. If you’re looking for a shoe that’s different and you’re willing to put in the time to make them comfy, these might be worth checking out.
