Okay, so I’ve been eyeing those fancy Goyard bags for a while now. You know, the ones with that signature pattern? They look so classy, but I was clueless about how much they actually cost. So, I decided to do some digging.
First, I learned that the Saint Louis Goyard tote is like, their most famous bag. Apparently, it’s so popular that it makes up more than half of Goyard’s sales! No wonder I see it everywhere. The company was bought by some guy named Jean-Michel Signoles in 1998, and he still owns it. It’s not part of that huge LVMH group that owns Louis Vuitton, which is kind of interesting. And the brand’s history could date back to 1792!
So, they use top-notch materials and they don’t sell online. This makes them more exclusive and keeps the prices up, I guess. But it also means people can resell them for a profit. Smart move, huh? I went to the store near my apartment. Then, I had a look at the price tag and took some pictures of the price, which I didn’t expect would be so expensive.
- The classic colors (black and black/tan) are the cheapest:
Goyard Saint Louis PM
It was about $1,620 or something. It is the smaller of the two sizes. This seemed to be a reasonable size for daily use.
Goyard Saint Louis GM
Around $1,940. It is the larger size. Seemed a little too big for me, but I can see why people like it.
- Other “special” colors cost more:
Goyard Saint Louis PM
About $2,090. There are many colors to choose from, which look very colorful and stylish.
Goyard Saint Louis GM
Roughly $2,490. It’s the same size as the classic color, but it just has a different color scheme.
And get this, if you want to personalize it with your initials or some stripes, it’s an extra $150! And it takes about a month. But I heard these bags hold their value pretty well, so maybe it’s worth it if you ever want to sell it. After knowing the price, I decided to save more money before I could buy one. Because I really want a red one!
Anyway, that’s my little adventure into the world of Goyard bags. Hope this helps anyone else who’s curious about them!
