Alright, so today I’m gonna talk about something a bit different – slogans. Yeah, you heard that right, slogans. I stumbled upon this idea when I was brainstorming for my buddy’s new business. He’s starting a small coffee shop, and he wanted a catchy line to go with it.

So, I started digging around, you know, just to see what makes a good slogan. I mean, how hard could it be, right? Just a few words strung together. Turns out, it’s not as simple as it seems.
- First off, I checked out some famous slogans, like Nike’s “Just Do It” and Apple’s “Think Different.” What’s the deal with these? They’re short, memorable, and kinda make you feel something.
- Then I tried to come up with some myself. Let me tell you, it’s tough! I wrote down a bunch of phrases, read them out loud, and most of them sounded pretty lame.
- I realized it’s not just about rhyming words or being clever. It’s about capturing the essence of the brand, you know? Like, what’s the vibe, what’s the message?
- It’s about creating a short, memorable phrase.
The Process
So I changed my approach. Instead of just trying to be catchy, I focused on what my friend’s coffee shop is all about. It’s cozy, it’s friendly, it’s where you’d go to relax and have a good cup of joe. I kept those things in mind and started playing with words again.
I wrote, I erased, I scribbled, I paced around. I probably drank way too much coffee during this whole process. Finally, after a few days, I had a few options that I actually liked. I ran them by my friend, and he picked the one he felt best represented his shop.
It was a fun little project. Not something I usually do, but it was a good challenge. Plus, it’s kinda cool to think that a slogan I came up with might be on a coffee shop sign someday.
I guess the takeaway here is that even something as seemingly simple as a slogan takes some thought and effort. And hey, if I can do it, anyone can. Just gotta put your mind to it and maybe drink a lot of coffee.
