Okay, here we go, today I’m gonna talk about my little project called “Kyrie Squidward”.
So, I’ve been a big fan of SpongeBob SquarePants since I was a kid, especially Squidward. I don’t know why, but I really love this guy. He’s grumpy and all that, but I guess I just find him hilarious. And I’m a big fan of Kyrie Irving, too, the basketball player. Dude’s got some serious skills on the court.
One day, I got this crazy idea. I started to wonder what it would be like to combine these two things I love. So I started messing around with this idea, and that’s how the “Kyrie Squidward” project was born. I learned that Nike had already launched some kind of collection, it is called the Nike Kyrie 5 SpongeBob Squidward, or something like that. Then I thought that why not make it real?
First, I found a pair of Nike Kyrie 5 online. Luckily, I found a brand new pair in my size. Then I started to search for some references about SpongeBob SquarePants online. I found that Squidward’s color is like, some kind of light blue-green, so I went to the store and bought some paint in that color.
When I got back home, I put the shoes on my desk and started painting. It was a mess, to be honest. I’m not really an artist or anything, so the first few tries looked pretty bad. But I didn’t give up. I watched a few videos online about how to paint shoes, and I tried again. I really spent a lot of time on it.
After a lot of trial and error, I finally got something I was kind of happy with. I painted the shoes in Squidward’s colors, and I even added a little picture of him on the side. It’s not perfect, but I think it’s pretty cool. Because I’m a big fan of both Squidward and Kyrie!
Here are the simple steps I took:
- Bought a pair of Nike Kyrie 5.
- Searched for color references.
- Bought the paint.
- Painted the shoes.
- Watched some tutorial videos and practiced.
- Added Squidward’s picture.
- Finished the project.
It was a fun little project, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s just a silly thing, but it makes me smile every time I see them. And, you know, it’s a little reminder that sometimes it’s okay to just have fun and be creative, even if it’s something as silly as painting your basketball shoes to look like a cartoon character.
