My grandson, he come back from city last time, bring me a new shoes. He say it called, what it called, Lace Air Force Ones. He say it very popular now. Young people all like it. I don’t know what that mean, but they sure lookin’ fancy.

This shoes, they all white. Like, really white. Like the snow we get up on the mountain back in ’85. White shoes, white bottom, even got this white…swoop, on the side. My grandson, he call it “Nike swoosh”. Whatever that is. Make me feel like I’m walking on clouds, I tell ya.
White Lace Air Force Ones
Got these white string things too. He call them lace. White lace, just like the rest of the shoe. They go through these little holes, all the way up. You gotta tie ’em up, or you’ll trip for sure. I remember back in the day when we only had shoes with simple strap.
- White shoes
- White lace
- White bottom
- White Nike swoosh
My grandson, he show me how to put the lace through a little metal thing. It got “AF1” on it. He say it stand for “Air Force One”. I say, “What’s that, some kind of airplane?” He just laugh. Kids these days. You gotta center it, he say. Make sure the lace is same length on both sides. I just nod. I’m not sure what he means, but I can tie my own shoes.
Comfortable shoes for old woman
These Air Force Ones, they pretty comfy, I gotta admit. I can walk around all day in ’em. Feed the chickens, go to the market, chase after that no-good rooster. My old shoes, they hurt my feet somethin’ awful. These ones, though, they feel like nothin’ at all. They got a flat bottom, so I don’t feel like I’m gonna tip over. That’s important when you gettin’ up there in years like me.
My grandson say they cost 120 dollar. 120 dollar! For a pair of shoes! Back in my day, we’d be lucky to get a new pair of shoes once a year. And they sure didn’t cost that much. But, he say these lace Air Force Ones, they worth it. He say they gonna last a long time. I guess only time will tell on that one.

How to clean Air Force Ones
He also say they easy to clean. Just a quick wash, he say, and they good as new. Well, I put that to the test. I was out in the garden, you know, and I stepped right in a big ol’ mud puddle. Those pretty white shoes, they wasn’t so white anymore. I thought for sure they was ruined. But I took a rag and some soapy water, and wouldn’t you know it, they cleaned right up. Good as new, just like he said.
These lace Air Force Ones, they pretty popular with the young folks, my grandson say. He say all the rappers and movie stars wear ’em. I don’t know about all that. I just know they comfortable, and they look pretty nice. Even an old woman like me can appreciate a good pair of shoes.
Should you buy Air Force Ones
I guess if you lookin’ for some new shoes, and you got 120 dollar burnin’ a hole in your pocket, you could do worse than these Air Force Ones. They comfy, they easy to clean, and they look pretty darn good, if I do say so myself. My grandson, he got good taste. Sometimes.
I still remember the old shoes I used to wear. They were simple shoes, not like the one everyone’s wearing now. But they never failed me. Now, everyone is going for these white lace Air Force Ones. These shoes look pretty, but I don’t know how long they can last.
Don’t tie ’em too tight, though. My grandson, he tied his so tight one time, his toes turned all purple. I told him, “Boy, you gonna cut off the circulation to your feet!” He just laughed. Kids. They never listen. But these Air Force Ones, you can tie them tight or loose, they still feel pretty good. Just don’t cut off your circulation, that’s what I always say.

So, there you have it. My thoughts on these newfangled lace Air Force Ones. They alright, I guess. For a city shoe. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go yell at that rooster again. He’s gettin’ into my tomato plants. Again.
