Man, oh man, let me tell you about my latest adventure. I decided it was time to treat myself, you know, a little self-care action. So, I hit up this nail salon I’d heard good things about, Lacquered Up. I figured, why not? My nails were looking rough, and I deserved a little pampering.

First off, I walked in and the place was pretty swanky. Nice vibes, you know? I told them I wanted both a manicure and a pedicure, the whole shebang. They got me seated in this comfy chair, and it was on.
My Pedicure Experience
We started with the pedicure. Now, I live in Australia, and I know a pedicure usually runs you around 30 to 80 bucks, I guess. This was a bit on the pricier side because it was one of those spa pedicures. They soaked my feet in warm water, and it was heavenly. Then came the scrubbing, the massage, and the exfoliation. They really went to town on my feet, and I’m not complaining. By the end of it, my feet felt like a baby’s bottom, smooth and soft.
My Manicure Experience
Next up was the manicure. I’ve heard a lot about different salons around Perth – Flawless Nails Salon 2, The Library Nail Salon, Darling Nail Salon, LA Nails – but I wanted to try Lacquered Up. The technician was meticulous. She shaped my nails, took care of my cuticles, and gave me a hand massage that nearly put me to sleep. I chose a classic red polish, and she did an amazing job. No smudges, no bubbles, just perfect, glossy nails.
Paying and Tipping
When it was time to pay, the bill was a bit hefty, but honestly, I felt it was worth it for the quality of service. I mean, a basic pedicure can range from $20 to $50, and the deluxe ones can go up to $70 to $100 or more, right? For the manicure, it was in the usual range, but the extra care and attention made it feel like a steal.
Now, about tipping. I’ve always been a bit unsure about how much to tip at a nail salon. But I did some digging and found out that it’s customary to tip between 15% to 20% of the total cost. I went with 20% because, honestly, they did an amazing job. Especially for the detailed work, like the nail art, they deserve a good tip. The ladies were super nice, and the service was top-notch, so why not, right?
So, there you have it. My day at Lacquered Up was a solid win. I walked out of there feeling like a new man, with my nails on point and my feet feeling fantastic. It’s these little things that make a big difference, you know? Definitely going back there again.
