So, I saw this “ladder sarah iconic” thing trending and thought, why not give it a shot? I mean, I’ve got a ladder, and I’ve seen those fancy Instagram posts, so how hard could it be? Spoiler alert: it’s not as easy as it looks, folks.

First things first, I grabbed my trusty old ladder from the garage. It’s one of those metal ones, you know, the kind that’s seen better days. Gave it a quick wipe down, because, hey, gotta make it somewhat presentable, right? Then, I set it up in my backyard. Nice sunny spot, good for that “natural lighting” everyone’s always going on about.
Preparation
- Found a good spot with decent lighting.
- Cleaned the ladder a bit.
- Thought about what iconic pose even means…
Now, for the “iconic” part. This is where things started to get tricky. I Googled “iconic poses” and got a bunch of pictures of models and movie stars. They all looked so effortless, like they were born posing. Me? Not so much. I tried to copy some of those poses, but let me tell you, standing on a ladder and trying to look cool is a whole other level of awkward.
I started by just trying to stand on the ladder, one foot on a higher step. Sounds simple, right? Nope. Balancing is a skill I clearly haven’t mastered. I nearly toppled over a couple of times. The dog was watching from the porch, probably thinking I’d lost my mind.
Then I decided to go for the classic “leaning on the ladder” look. You know the one, where you’re all casual but also kind of mysterious. Yeah, that didn’t go well either. I either looked like I was about to fall or like I was trying too hard. There was no in-between. I also tried to put a hand on my hip, thinking it’d be a good look – wrong.
Posing Attempts
- Attempted to stand on one leg – failed.
- Tried the “lean” – looked awkward.
- Hand on hip – a disaster.
After about an hour of this, I realized that becoming “ladder sarah iconic” wasn’t in the cards for me. I took a few pictures, but they’re more “ladder sarah comical” than anything else. It was fun though, in a goofy sort of way. I might not be Instagram famous, but hey, I got a good laugh out of it, and the dog got some entertainment.

So, if you’re thinking of trying this trend, my advice is to have fun with it and don’t take it too seriously. And maybe practice your balance beforehand. Unless you want to end up like me, with a bunch of photos where you look like you’re about to fall off a ladder.
In the end, I learned that these online trends are made to look much easier than they actually are. I packed up my ladder, scratched the dog behind the ears, and went back inside. I might try again another day, who knows?
