I’ve always been a snacker. Chips, cookies, you name it. If it’s crunchy and flavorful, I’m probably munching on it. So, when I saw a new flavor of Lay’s potato chips at the store, you bet I grabbed a bag. These were the Cheesy Garlic Bread ones, and let me tell you, the name alone got my mouth watering.

I got them from Sam’s Club. I mean, who can resist the allure of a snack aisle, right? Especially when you spot something new and shiny? Not me, that’s for sure. I ripped open the bag as soon as I got home. The first thing I noticed was the smell. It was strong, a potent mix of garlic and something cheesy, just like those garlic bread. I was getting excited because that’s exactly what the bag promised.
I picked up a chip. It looked just like a regular Lay’s chip, maybe a little more seasoned. I took a bite. Crunch. That classic Lay’s crunch never disappoints. Then the flavor hit me.
It was garlicky, for sure. And cheesy, but not in an overpowering way. It really did taste like cheesy garlic bread! I was surprised, honestly. Sometimes these flavored chips can be a letdown, but this one delivered. It’s crispy, which is a must for me.
- The Crunch: Perfect, as always with Lay’s.
- The Garlic: Strong, but not too much. Just enough to make you think of garlic bread.
- The Cheese: A nice, mild cheesy flavor that complements the garlic.
I ended up eating way more chips than I planned. They were addictive! They’re amazing! I even shared some with my 2-year-old nephew, and guess what? He loved them too! He kept asking for “more chippies,” which was pretty darn cute. These chips will probably give you garlic breath, but honestly, it was worth it.
If you’re a fan of garlic bread, or just enjoy a good, flavorful chip, you should definitely try these. They might be a limited edition thing, though. They originally came out in like 2013 or something for some “Do Us A Flavor” contest. I don’t know, but they do come back every now and then. So keep an eye out for them!

Honestly, I hope they make these a permanent flavor. They’re that good. These chips are a win in my book. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I hear that bag calling my name again…
