So, I’ve been seeing Ed Hardy stuff everywhere lately, and it’s kind of bringing back some memories, you know? I decided to give their Love & Luck cologne a try. I found it online, and they were running a pretty sweet deal, like up to 70% off. Can’t beat that, right?

I saw it was made by this Christian Audigier guy. I think he’s the designer behind the whole Ed Hardy brand. Anyway, I placed my order and it arrived in just a few days. I have to say, I was pretty excited to try it out.
The First Spritz
When I first sprayed it, I noticed it had this fruity and floral scent. The description mentioned something about it being a “gourmand” fragrance. I’m not sure what that really means, but it definitely smelled sweet, almost like candy.
I picked up on some citrusy notes, like mandarin and orange. It also had this bergamot thing going on, which I’ve smelled in other colognes before. Apparently, there’s also some cardamom in there, but I couldn’t really distinguish it.
How it Wears
- First Impression: Sweet and fruity, a bit on the stronger side.
- After a While: It started to mellow out. I noticed some floral notes, like violet. They said something about cypress and sage, but those were harder for me to pick up.
- Later On: It settled into this musky, woody scent. There was definitely cedar in there, and maybe some vetiver. They also mentioned oud, which is supposed to be this fancy, expensive wood. I don’t know if I really smelled that, but it was definitely woody. One site said something about a honeysuckle and sweet caramel, but I didn’t really get those.
Overall Thoughts
It’s a pretty bold fragrance, not something I’d wear every day. I think it’s better suited for a night out or a special occasion. It’s definitely got that Ed Hardy vibe – loud and a little flashy. I mean I got the smaller 50ml bottle which was perfect for me.
I saw some mixed reviews online. Some people loved it, others thought it was too strong. I can see where they’re coming from, it’s not for everyone. But for the price I paid, I’m pretty happy with it. It’s a fun, interesting scent that’s definitely different from my usual go-tos.
