Okay, so today I wanna talk about this MAC Maleficent lipstick I tried out. I saw a post about it somewhere, and it really caught my eye, so I decided to give it a shot.
First, I had to get my hands on this thing. It’s a limited edition, so it wasn’t like I could just walk into any store and grab it. I searched around, checked a few different places, and finally found one online. Ordered it, and it took a few days, but it finally arrived.
The packaging was kinda plain, honestly. Nothing too fancy. I guess I was expecting something more, you know, given the whole Maleficent theme. But hey, it’s what’s inside that counts, right?
When I opened it up, the color was this intense red. Like, really bold. It’s called “True Love’s Kiss,” which I thought was a bit cheesy, but whatever. I put it on, and wow, it was definitely a statement. The texture was pretty smooth. It went on easily, and it felt moisturizing, which was nice.
- Pigmentation is awesome, like super vibrant.
- It didn’t bleed or feather.
- The staying power is solid. I wore it for a few hours, ate some food, drank some coffee, and it was still there.
I tried pairing it with a lip liner too, just to see how it looked. I think it worked pretty well, gave it a more defined look.
Overall
I’d say it’s a pretty good lipstick. The color is definitely not for every day, at least not for me. But for a night out or something special, yeah, it works. I saw some people online saying it’s similar to another MAC lipstick, “Russian Red,” but I haven’t tried that one, so I can’t compare. If you’re into bold reds and you can find this one, I’d say give it a try. Just be prepared for a lot of attention, ’cause this color is loud.
It’s a bit of a bummer that it’s limited edition, though. I guess that makes it more special, but it also means it’s harder to get. All in all, I’d give it a solid 4 out of 5. It does what it’s supposed to do, and it does it well. Just wish the packaging was a bit more exciting.
