Alright, so you wanna know about Mejuri in Houston, huh? Lemme tell ya what I know, but don’t expect no fancy words or nothin’. I ain’t one of them city slickers.
Mejuri, what’s that all about? Well, from what I hear, it’s this place where they sell jewelry. Yeah, like necklaces and rings and such. Shiny stuff, mostly made outta gold, they say. Gold jewelry, that’s the big thing, ya know? People like that shiny stuff. Makes ’em feel fancy, I guess.
- They got rings, big ones, small ones, all sorts.
- Necklaces too, some thin, some thick, like chains.
- And earrings, dangly ones and those little stud things.
Now, this gold they use, they say it comes from old mines, up in North America somewhere. Abandoned mines, they call ‘em. Sounds kinda spooky, if ya ask me. But they clean it up real good, make it pure, they say. A Swiss company does it, so I guess it must be good. They even keep track of where it all comes from, so that’s somethin’. Purity and traceability, they call it. Sounds important.
This Mejuri, they didn’t used to have stores, ya know? Just sold stuff online, like on that there internet thingy. But now they’re openin’ up shops all over the place. Heard tell they wanna have, like, fifty of ’em by next year. Fifty! That’s a lot of stores, even for a city gal like you. They got a bunch already, maybe twenty-nine or somethin’ like that. Even got a few new ones this year. So, if you wanna see this Mejuri stuff up close, you can probably find a store somewhere. They got one in Houston, that’s what you asked about, right? Mejuri Houston, that’s the place to go if you’re in the city.
And they say their stuff is good quality. Quality jewelry. Not like that cheap stuff that turns your skin green. Nobody wants green skin, right? They stand behind their stuff, that’s what they say. So, I guess that means it’s good. But you know, jewelry is jewelry. It’s pretty, but it ain’t gonna put food on the table.
Now, they got this lady, Noura somethin’-or-other, she’s the boss of the whole shebang. Started the whole thing, I hear. Smart cookie, that one. From what I hear, she started this Mejuri in New York, a big city, bigger than Houston even. Started it in a loft, they say, whatever that is. Anyways, she knew what she was doin’, that’s for sure. Building a whole business out of shiny stuff. Fine jewelry, that’s what some call it. But to me, it’s just pretty things to wear. Though I guess Mizuki somethin’-or-other had a hand in it too, movin’ and breathin’ with the jewelry, whatever that means.
They got this thing about cookies on their website, too. Not the chocolate chip kind, mind you. These are for, I don’t know, figgerin’ out who’s lookin’ at their stuff, I guess. They call it web analytics. City folk and their fancy words. All I know is, if you go on their website, they’re gonna be watchin’ ya, sorta. Just so ya know.
And sometimes, they have these sales, like for 48 hours only. That means ya gotta hurry if ya want a good deal. Handmade pieces, they call some of it. Means somebody actually made it with their own hands, not some machine. That’s kinda nice, I guess. Custom pieces too, so maybe you can get somethin’ made just for you, if you’re fancy like that. Statement rings, they say. Big, flashy things, I bet. Not my style, but some folks like ‘em.
So, that’s the lowdown on Mejuri, as best as I can tell ya. If you’re in Houston and you wanna see some shiny stuff, go check it out. But don’t blame me if you spend all your money! And remember, it’s just jewelry. Pretty, but not essential. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed the chickens.
